For challenge car, my truck intake is too tall. Need an ls1 stock intake manifold. Don't need rails/injectors/tb. Can trade things or buy. Unfortunately they're not $30 anymore.

Ok aside of the cracked one on ebay for $249 that i made a $30 offer on I assume there are no cheap ones anymore.
Time to make car fit intake, but I still won't turn down a cheap one because $2018 car needs one too probably.
i had the last cheap ls1 intake i found back when they were almost being given away. I used ls4 rails on it because ls4 intakes are pretty close to free.
If i bought every $20-75 ls1 intake on the forums back when and started selling them now i could buy a hellcat with the profits. They were literally almost worthless. Now they are $400.
Not going to lie I tossed a LS1 intake in the trash in 2009. Was replaced by an LS6 intake that I received for $300 installed.
I'll have one for you in a few months when I fit the next gen Doorman mod intake that is good for 15hp over the stock.

Keep me in mind the $2018 car is going to be tight on budget and hood clearance
LS Xperts is a mile from me, I'll go over Monday. Pro line is about the same distance I can go there too. What's special for me to ask/ look for, Lot's of Vettes at LSX
Whats an LS3 intake worth? What about the computer stuff required to run it? Only asking because I'm thinking about ditching the stock system in favor of one of those new FiTech Ultimate LS intakes. They have a 102mm throttle body, larger injectors, self learn, and are right out of the box ready to handle boost. We all know 500 hp in a 2500 pound car just might not be enough.
Probably because of the popularity of swaps, the finite amount made, and most swaps can't fit a truck intake under the hood. At one point everyone was "omg ls6 intake +20hp here take my ls1 intake garbage man!" Now there is more demand and less supply. Basic economics. Dorman has started making one almost ls6 spec.
The ls3 stuff fits newer big engine heads only so it's not quite as high as earlier stuff. Most budget swaps use early engines or 4.8/5.3 which still have cathedral port heads
In reply to patgizz:
Availability is dependent on me finishing the V upgrades
-valvetrain redo with LS7 guts
-head shave 35thousands
-replacement intake port
-throttlebody port
-long tube headers and high flow cats
-Ls7 injectors
Half of this is already on hand as I'm doing my homework on pushrods valvetrain and headers currently.
It is an LS6 and we'll call it a donation.
Truck ones super tall, ls4(front wheel drive) have 4 bolt throttle body mounts, ls2 has 4 bolt throttle body mounts, ls3 has rectangular ports instead of tall coming to a point.
Then from there LS1 has egr port behind throttle body(that big round hole) and LS6 does not. Either of those will work with the fuel rails i have.
Northeast Ohio certainly isn't mid southeast PA. Geeze, on craigslist here they go immediately at $200. If it's genuinely not needed by you, the $2018 car will not clear truck intake and hood will not be cut.
I just tacked together a cowl scoop on the $2017 build. It's clear now. I had to do something fast because the body was sitting on the intake keeping the nose from setting down where it had to go.
