OK, we've already discussed the Juke-R. [For the record, the car is butt ugly, and the whole concept of stuffing it full of GTR bits seems seems horribly, horribly wrong. That's probably why I giggle maniacally whenever I think about it, and believe that everyone involved in doing this should be given a raise.] Anyway, the juke-r was goofy and entertaining, but it is now old news.
UNLESS.....[drum roll]....we can get GRM to do a review on one! [cymbal crash] It turns out that
Nissan plans to sell the Juke-R to the public in limited quantities. Please get try your hands on one of these.
$590,000 . . .
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot . . .
I read about that. Sounded like something out of the twilight zone. Almost six hundred grand for one of the mo-fugliest pieces of drek I've ever seen? I'd like to meet anybody that buys one. I have some questions for them.
OK, so what is the GRM version of a Juke-R? An STi drivetrain into a Justy? 300ZX TT motor into an Access?

I once visited an 1/8th mile strip where one of the locals was playing with his latest creation; a small block chevy drivetrain swapped into it's cousin the opel kadett

Holy freaking numbskulls, Batman! Are you serious? That kind of money for that fugly piece of crap?! Words fail me.
I would think it would be a Forester STi like this:

A Forester STi is 10 times cooler at 10% of the price. Not to mention that you can get near it without your face peeling off.

I wouldn't even buy that if they moved the decimal two spots to the left. Fugly!
I love it, looks way better than half the cars currently on the market. Looks ridiculously aggressive/awesome compared to a new GTR, which looks boring as sin. It is also simply amazing that the factory is doing this, even if it does cost the same amount as a full blown WRC car...
I wonder if they will maintain value or depreciate? I'd totally buy one for $100k in a decade or two.
I love it but $590,000. JESUS.

You're just trying to stir up trouble, right?
Taking a little crapbox and stuffing a gigantic engine and AWD system into it? That's what I think the essence of GRM is. And who cares if it's ugly? It won't matter when you massacre a (very very pretty) Aston Martin on a track or in a straight line.
The price tag though...eesh. That's gotta change.
And also I hate the new GT-R, so I'm glad they found a use for it's drivetrain. Would've been better if they just made it RWD and lost all the heavy, overly-complex AWD bits.

Nope, dead serious. I love everything about the Juke. The motor, the drivetrain (wish it was available with a stick AND awd), the shape, it's perfect for the modern day two adult one kid family to drive around in the city during the winter, and it can still get you places you may not expect it to (looks like it would be good for going camping with).
All I've heard with it (besides the CVT) is solid reviews. What more could a person want?
And then they take it, slam it on 20's, throw huge ginormous fender flares on it, give it 550hp and quite possibly the best drivetrain the new millennium has seen and I'm supposed to dislike it?
The only thing I dislike is that price, which is outrageous. BUT, it IS factory engineered in limited quantities. Pretty easy to build a one off race car, pretty hard to build 100 essentially one off cars to OEM quality levels of comfort and refinement. Mad props Nissan!

They did . . .
GT-1 GTR
http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1032383_nissan-reveals-official-details-for-fia-gt1-gt-r-race-car
But it does cost more than the JukeR . . . but because racecar.
I would think someone could build a VK56DE equiped GTR for much cheaper than the JukeR and have mo'fun

After watching tuned GT-R's on street tires, turn the lap times they did at Hallett yesterday................I'd say no.

Okay. To each his own, I guess.
Actually seeing all the hate kinda makes me want it more.

Wow....I was going to say 5.0 in a pinto, but your LS6 in an aztek recipe has an extra helping of awesome sauce.

wait, you can get an LS6 in a Aztek?
---shuffles off to craigslist to search for Azteks and wrecked corvettes----
I just don't get it. I love the concept, but even if I had oil tycoon money, I would rather buy a transporter full of GT-Rs than one Juker.
