There are almost an infinite number of worse-ways to spend a weekend than being at Lime Rock, in a Miata, in Autumn.

Coming soon: this fall’s big East Coast Miata event.
Connecticut’s Lime Rock Park will hold its second annual MiataCon on October 25-26. Last year’s event brought together over 400 Mazda Miata participants and thousands of spectators from across the nation.
This year, MiataCon’s turnout is anticipated to be even higher with organizers pulling together more than $20,000 in contingency. There will be prizes from not only Lime Rock Park but also SCDA, Hoosier, Lime Rock Drivers Club and Mazda.
Some of you may ask, why only Miatas?
“Lime Rock Park and our Drivers Club have a very active and competitive community of Spec Miata and MX-5 racers, including coaches and drivers who have won national Miata championships,” shared Jamie Kistner, director of sales and marketing.
MiataCon’s schedule again features car corrals with parade laps, track sessions, a High-Performance Driving Event (HPDE) and the MiataCon Mixer, plus an exciting new addition–but more on that event in a minute.
In the corrals, participants have the chance to explore every generation of Miata, showcasing the evolution of this beloved Japanese roadster. But that’s not all, participants can also view a lineup of Mazdas, JDM sports cars and kei cars. Specific to Corral Pass attendees, the Moss Miata Car Show is a perfect place to share your Miata with other owners, and see how they have customized theirs! There will be fun and creative categories, with prizes for the people’s choice awards on Saturday afternoon.
For something a bit faster in pace, participants can register for the High-Performance Driving Event (HPDE). This event separates participants into multiple classes, representing each generation of Miata. Don’t worry about your build level, either, as every car is welcome.
Whether you’re a seasoned driver or just getting started, this event offers an exhilarating experience within Lime Rock Park’s main circuit. Sanctioned by the Sports Car Driving Association, the run groups include Spec Miata, Spec/Global MX-5, Exhibition MX-5 and non-racing HPDE. They also provide safe sessions for participants to get some on-track practice in their Miata before the larger sessions.
This year’s new addition? MiataX on the facility’s FCP Euro Proving Grounds: no cones, no walls and plenty of runoff room. In addition to timed laps, introductory sessions will also be offered.
“Intro to MiataX gives participants an opportunity to experience the unique and challenging FCP Euro Proving Grounds,” shared Jamie. “Learn the techniques and skills needed to push you and your car to the limit.”
Bonus: MiataX participants also receive free general admission to Saturday's race day.
At the conclusion of racing action on Saturday, the MiataCon Mixer will swing into action. Adjacent to A-Paddock Concessions, the MiataCon Mixer invites all participants to jam to music, enjoy free snacks and roast some marshmallows around the fire pit.
MiataCon is an opportunity for enthusiasts, young and old, to come together to share their passion for these timeless cars within the historic Lime Rock Park. To join in on the Miata celebrations, tickets and registration can be accessed through Lime Rock. Please note that the MiataX registration is separate from the race/HPDE registration.

This event is on my bucket list. Lime Rock is a beautiful track and the weather should be perfect that time of year.
That's the weekend before the big Miata Reunion at Sears Point. 3000 miles, roughly 45 hours of drive time. Leave Sunday, get to Sacramento on Thursday. I hope someone's planning an epic road trip :)
In reply to Keith Tanner :
A cross-country Miata road trip like that almost sounds like a right of passage.
I'm going to try to make it up there for this event this year. I planned to go last year, but something came up at the last minute.

Don’t tempt me with a good time.
I'd love to pop over for that, I'll be at Thompson with Xtreme Xperience that weekend if any GRMers want to come hang out and drive a Ferrari/Lambo/Porsche/etc. with me.
I'm not sure if playing with supercars at Thompson instead of driving my Miata at Lime Rock counts as a :( or a :) face, so you can judge :)
In reply to David S. Wallens :
I am 100% tempting you. Pick your Miata, it could either be a GRM or a CM article :)
35th anniversary celebration of the car at the Reunion this year, I think GRM would do well to attend. I know a guy if you need a connection.
