Hey everybody! Just a little update... I put a ~120K mile motor in it, but my cooling system problems remained unsolved and it popped the head gasket. So I had the head rebuilt and put it back together, replaced every last bit of cooling system and it's been running great for over a year. Now I'm moving to NY and my stepdaughter is staying in FL, so I won't be around to keep up with the usual old BMW glitches. I bought her an Accord and am selling the 528.
I need a little better than Challenge money for it, but hopefully adding a CL link to this old thread isn't an infraction.
