1998 Contour SVT project 3.0L/Quaife

Got to sell a project in Evansville, IN. It is a 1998.5 Ford Contour SVT in nice condition that had a rod knock. I bought a 2003 Taurus 3.0L to put in it (a popular swap), and had the tranny rebuilt by Haines Motor Sports. It has a Quaife, 3.8 final drive, and the keyed tower mod. I have stripped the 3.0L, started the conversion, pulled the old engine, and everything is ready to go back together. The front suspension is off, it needs ball joints to reassemble. It will also need a Y pipe for the exhaust. Or you could put headers on it. It is a great project, and I would love to finish it, but I am losing the space, and other factors (I got married) prevent me from finishing it. the car is in good condition, I have pics to send if you want them. I am looking for $1500 out of it, that is what I have in the tranny alone. It comes with all the SVT engine parts, so you could resell them, and get some money back. No affiliation but I had a 1998 quaife'd 3L SVT Contour and the thing was a friggin' blast. IMO this could be a great project with a high fun factor. Good luck!

Damn, why must you be so far away! I loved my '99.5 CSVT I had, and it was bone stock. I can't imagine the fun I'd have on track with a 3L Quaife'd Terry Haines tranny'd car! Someone buy this before I go nuts and m wife divorces me!

I'm in Evansville, so if anyone would like me to look at it for them I can do that. I could even store it for a little while if someone here were to buy it.

I drove my SVTC at VIR and BeaveRun but due to the nature of Ford's to never run right when you want them to I only had one good day on the track at BeaveRun. My instructor was pretty freaked out at first and eventually told me to "Stop running up on these Porsches so fast, you're going to scare them". I E36 M3 you not. He had to call home and tell his wife about the ride he got in this FORD of all things. LMAO! This is coming from somebody who drove a GT3 on the street and a Formula Ford on the track. The car was a hoot. For one day. I had a lot of work done to mine, though... Good luck with the sell, if I had the room/money I'd consider it.

Do you have the paperwork or build sheet on the trans.? The trans. alone is worth $1,500 . Wish I had the time and something to tow it to Michigan.
I just sold my CSVT this past year. The SVT was a nice all around daily driver.

I've got it somewhere....will have to find it. Terry writes his name and all the mods on the trannys he builds...and this one has it. If you ask him I am sure he will remember me...I brought it to his house in a freakin hell of a snowstorm last March. I agree this will be a great project....I really wish I could finish it....anyone know how I can post pics of it?
