Hey guys and gals,

I'm wanting to build a $2000 challange car with my dad and we are wondering how to document the price for the donor truck we plan on using for our LS swap? Its a busted 2000 Sivlerado 2500 with almost 300,000mi. I already own it and got it on a trade+ $400 cash kinda deal a while back. Looking at the rules is there a set "market value" to use?

also, when parting it out do I need to keep a receipt or anything for EVERY transaction or can I record "$100 hood, $10 side view mirror, etc"

thanks guys. hoping to see everyone in the Fall.

Justin.

If you don't mind Sharing ..... 400 plus what, That Truck Could be worth 750 up to 2000 but I wouldn't be Interested past 500,Try to keep accurate Records It really comes out in your Favor,

Outside of the Basic cost of the car I trade more than sell and that makes Value even More difficult to determine, and often a Campairison value  of a similar part on your Spread sheet can be a  helpfull ' TOOL'.

Thank you.

It was $400 cash plus a 1999 camaro roller I previously paid $750. I was wondering...if I document $1150 (cash plus initial trade value) can I recoup up to $1000 for the “parts” car bringing the net money spent up to $150? I understand I will not be able to recoup any more for the total budget.

Also do I need to site this post or something for the official $1150? I didn’t really have a document of the agreement and the title was the bill of sale and it only stated $400.

not around here...sn95s go for $300-600 with clean bodies and blown motors or transmissions. Plus, this would be the 3rd LS mustang I’ve built so it should go rather easily (minus the budget part).

A C4 would be cool though. I have thought about it but the only ones I’ve seen within 2 hrs of me on CL were total dog poop and missing body panels.

I belive you, but recently in cars for sale "cheap c4's"  there have been some cheapies, Where Ya'll Live, I didn't see that in your Profile.  and for building a car you are familiar with there is nothing like Practice.

Welcome! I'm up in Jacksonville but I have a friend down in Vero Beach.  He's an old school Cadillac hotrod guy.
