Anyone interested in taking on an MGA project? I have the car (minus engine and trans) and all of the parts and pieces to resurrect it. Comes with either a Mustang 5.0 and WC T5 trans or a Capri V6 engine and four speed trans.

Like cash or trade for a mid-70's or so Corvette in similar condition/ in need of similar resurrection.

Located in Kingston, MA 02364

Post questions here. Could shoot some pics, but this is REALLY a come and see sort of thing.

Lemme know,

TC

Engines for sale separately or trade for good running 1275cc MG Midget engine and trans.

Some details on the condition of the body, rust issues, what work is needed, etc. would help. Pics are always good, too. MGA's are sweet.

The front and rear body bulkheads are good, no dents, just surface rust. The lower front valance is also good. The fenders are mostly good although there is some damage to bottoms of the fenders. I have four good fenders that go along with the project, along with a really good hood and trunk, all in final prime. Also have two very good doors for the project as well along with new rockers and lock plates. Essentially anything that is bad on the actual car, I have replacements pieces for.

The chassis is junk, but I have a very nice replacement chassis for it. The car is a disk break wire wheel car, I also have a steel wheel drum brake deont suspension and complete rer end that goes along with it.

There's a nearly new, tan canvas top with folding top frame attached, black interior and the stock seat frames and cushions. Needs a carpet kit, but with the 302 and T5 installed, a custom carpet would need to be done up anyway.

Have all of the trim. windshield frame, lights, new repro bumpers and such along with a ton of the small stuff required to finish up the project.

WAY too much to shoot photos of, imagine a full sized model car and all of the bits and pieces to put it together.

Here are a couple of quick pics of the body. But it really is a "must see' project, you know?

Depending on the cash price, good deal for someone with the time.

Here's a pretty good list of all of the parts and pieces that go with the "car."

Included with the project car are the following parts, and some more that I'm sure to forget.

Two extra front fenders.

Two extra rear fenders.

Extra trunk lid.

Extra hood.,

Two extra extra doors.

Two grill assemblies with MG badges and plinths.

Stock seat assemblies.

Slightly used, but very nice black seat covers and interior kit.

Nice tan canvas convertible top attached to good top frame.

Headlight assemblies.

Windshield frame.

Early and mid-year tail light assemblies.

New chromed reproduction front and rear bumpers with over-riders.

New right and left rocker panels.

Good used right and left rocker panels.

Two extra heater assemblies.

Extra wiper motor.

Extra dash board with used gauges.

Box of gauges.

New front side vent covers.

Interior rail wood kit.

New MGA trunk emblem assembly/pieces.

Front Badge Bar with badges.

Extra pedal assembly.

New extra master brake cylinder with addition volume top piece for disk brakes.

Four steel wheels.

Extra tank filler neck and cap. Jag flip top fuel cap.

Vintage Bosch aux. driving lights.

Two new extra tail light lenses and two extra near perfect originals.

Wooden MG shift knob.

Fiberglass Sebring-style front valance.

Full extra set of reconditioned dash switches and knobs.

MG radio block-off plate.

Perfect extra dash light.

Extra working directional switch.

Extra stock MGA radiator.

Aluminum racing radiator.

Plus whatever else I bought and can't remember.

I have an extra rear clip and nose clip that aren't great, but could come with the car. Possibly join them up and make a trailer or use the bad frame under the car along with the extra doors and throw together a junk pile in the shape of an MGA, add the parts that you don't need or want, and end up with a "parts car" to sell on to some other fool . . .

All of the above parts including the titled MGA for $2,000.

If anyone is interested in a very nice running Mustang 302 and five speed WC T-5 trans as well, just toss in another $500 and they're yours and I'll included an Edelbrock four barrel intake manifold with the deal. OR for $300 you can have the V6 Ford engine and four speed trans that came out of the Capri. Same one that came in the TVR and Mustang II.

All located in Massachusetts along the Southern shore about three miles from Plymouth Rock.

And a few more pics, this time of the doors, just to show the quality of the parts/pieces.

I'm very thankful you're far enough away, I'm a sucker for the looks of mga's.

Same here. I got into it because of the cool vintage shape thinking that I would upgrade the running gear to Mustang spec and keep the vintage exterior intact. Got the 302 and T-5 along with a narrowed Ford rear end, a full set of fiberglass fenders along with fiberglass rockers, and a nice stock aluminum hood and trunk. Figured that I would end up with an extremely light and very fast ride masquerading as a stock MGA.

Health and old age set in earlier than expected, now all of the stock stuff and project car are for sale, I'll sell the fiberglass race weight panels on another forum. Then, just stick with my late model automatic, air conditioned Mustang for a while and pretend that it's fast . . . maybe keep an eye out for a 70's era Vette. I honestly doubt that I could operate a high performance Mustang 302/T-5 on a regular basis any more, knees were the first to go.

Just clarifying, how bad is the frame? Did you say that you have another good frame? I know that is a serious weak point on these.

The frame has rot beneath the door openings, typical on these cars. Of course it can be repaired, anything can, but I found a near perfect frame in an up-state New York shop and had a friend grab it up for me and deliver it down here.

Sorry for the confusion.

Thinking much more seriously about this (not sure if that is good or bad). What is the storage situation? No way I'll be able to move on anything until after the challenge - end of October. Could you hold it until then? Of course if I ask you to hold it I would be willing to do a deposit or something.

The car is outside under a nice tarp until another week or so then I'm expecting a shed to be delivered which ought to be big enough to hold the car just fine. The engines (if your at all interested) are wrapped in plastic wrap and tucked under tarps as well, safe and sound. All the remainder of the parts needed to put the project together are scattered throughout the house and cellar. Inside, safe and warm. A pic or two below of my "dining room" just to confirm.

Lots of room to keep things safe here until you ready, if you decide on grabbing up the project.

Just wondering, where are you located? Which Challenge location/track are you headed for?

In reply to TeamEvil:

Wow, now I want to go check this thing out just to hang out with you for a while!

I am in Chicago, and the grm challenge is what i am going to, in Florida.

That said, my in laws live in Pittsburgh, and we might have a trip out there in the fall. That at least gets me halfway (ish).

I'm seeing some seriously expensive vintage Porsche stuff there. (well seriously expensive to my limited budget anyway)
