This is at the top of my must-own list. I had an 87 Celica GT (FWD) when I was in college. I loved that (rusty) car and the ST165 Alltrac was the ultimate version.
I had a friend and former co-worker that wanted one of these in the worst way. Then he drove one. Best not to meet your heroes.
I had one that I purchased in 1997 from the original owner and sold a few years ago.
No way in hell they weight 3800 lbs.
I had a friend with a very nice 93(st185?) Alltrac. I had a 97 Eclipse GSX at the same time. The Alltrac sadly paled to the GSX in both acceleration & handling at autox. However I didn’t keep it long enough to part ways with the crank.

Sorry, 3300 pounds. It was early in the morning...
Still, a lot of mass for a 180hp car. I remember driving a friend's and thought it was a bit ponderous. Of course my point of reference at the time was a 1991 NA Miata...
3300 is that GVW that includes all passengers and or cargo? The GVW on my 07 Saab wagon is 4380 as a reference. Curb weight is probably 700-1000 less. I am betting the curb weight on the Alltrack is closer to 2700-2800.

I can’t vouch for this generation, but the next one was up around 3300-3400lbs.

Another mistake ... it had 200 HP stock.
Not sure what shape your friend's was, but an All-Trac is substantially faster than an NA Miata while both in stock form. I have owned both.
Last one I saw in person was nose in the tire barrier in turn three at NHIS with the motor fully engulfed in fire.

3300 is curb weight. Really. And the US version only had 180. Really.

No, the US version really had 180 which wasn't bad for the era. Yeah, it was faster than an NA Miata but to ME if felt ponderous. They were great in the wet though. I would imagine on a tight road the Miata would run away from one. IMHO, of course...
I have always wanted one. I always thought that the body styling was great on these!!! (either generation!!) I am partial to the later ones for some reason but the older ones have that ae86 vibe going on that is also cool.
In 1 year the 1994 Celica alltrac will be 25 years old and eligible for import. I still like the early cars better, but it would be cool to see the newer ones start showing up at events.
