Project is looking great Andrew. I expect great things from this little beast.
Nice work. I had sort of contemplated sectioning a stock hood to make a cowl hood on my truck. You are making that look dangerously easy to do.

Yup - 65 - good eye. It was going to be scrapped with 4 fenders by my Mom and Dad's neighbor.
Andy, need any parts

Great Job this year guys! I love what you guys bring to the Challenge both in cars and personality. It's amazing to watch a team both battle to take back and keep the lead and simultaneously try to help the guys most capable of challenging their times go faster. Pretty cool.

I consider it an honor to have Ed as my friend. He was part of our build and helped us there. As we worked on his car, I told him that as soon as he goes faster than us, I am going back up. Unfortunately he couldn't get the bottle pressure high enough.
Bumping this, because I am sure there are others who want to see more build pictures as I do.
Please share more pictures of the build. I need my fix.
Composite Hood Photos
Ed Malle made the hood with discarded materials.
Mom and Dad really enjoyed racing with Ed Malle and his brother at drag week this summer.
We found a 1980 Monza in the junkyard, which donated it's tail piece. Someone was even nice enough to remove most of the fasteners for us, and got most of the car out of our way too. It took a while to clean up, but it was a lot better than what we had.
Did you just use the steel hood you made as a plug, make a mold from that, and then lay up the hood?

Yes.

Yes - I made the scoop.

Sorry, I didn't think it was being watched. Calvin threw up the pics. We've been doing work, but not been posting. I have a bunch of pics if there is something in particular you'd like to see.
You'll need to log in to post.
