Out of 40ish cars I was the only 944, 3rd oldest after a '77 911 and 60s model I didn't know. Millions of dollars worth of new models and I was not in their tax bracket. I was ready to leave after 30min but someone complimented my SCCA shirt so we talked.
He's in the Cincinnati region and we talked autocross for about 15min. SWMBO texted me she was at my house because we had a D&D game at 3pm with friends so I left.
So, you'd rather hang out with people quibbling over the most obscure minutiae while they show off all of their cool gear, instead of hanging out with the PCA club? ![laugh laugh](https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/static/ckeditor/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/teeth_smile.png)

Hm. Between the new Celica race car, and working on buying back my old WRX, something has to go...
Anyone interested?

I should probably update this thread.
i purchased this car from Jerry last year. I've owned two other 1987 944 turbos in the past and had been looking for another. Both of my previous cars had been black exterior, with beige interior, and I did not want beige interior again. Once I saw how clean Jerry's car was, and the massive amount of documentation, it didn't take much to convince myself to pull the trigger.
Jerry was very clear about the car, both positive and negative, so buying it sight unseen wasn't a problem and I was very happy when I received it. It was really better than expected, the underside looked like it belonged to a car with 40k miles, not 140k. I started by taking it to a local guy for paint correction, chip repair, and ceramic coating. I'm not really a sticker guy, so did de-sticker it and eventually swapped in the stock rear quarter windows. If anyone here wants the aftermarket ones you see in the pics let me know and I'll send them your way.

Originally I had planned to leave it stock, but these cars respond so well to basic bolts on I just couldn't leave well enough alone, so in goes my order to Lindsey racing.
i ordered:
full 3" fabspeed exhaust
LR/Max performance chips
LR Boost fooler
3 bar FPR
wastgate shims
Innovative boost and AF gauge kits
I also had the stock Konis rebuild and that made a huge difference, the originals were definitely shot as Jerry had mentioned.
Everything went smoothly, and this car is so clean that no hardware, even on the stock exhaust was seized. I was pretty shocked because I was expecting a fight. The Fabspeed exhaust is a work of art. Here are a couple of pics during the install.

Gauge install in progress. The panel sits flush now once everything was buttoned up.:

Nice! It just ended up not being what I wanted/expected. I learned that Porsche is another tier higher for aftermarket goodies and maintenance in general. It was so quiet, so ...slow, I'll say it (even if I didn't expect late model turbo performance). Even finding wheels for it was not working out, and tires as well.
I think what really bugged me is the premium $ I paid for it, because it seemed to be in such great shape and well documented, and still blew $6K a month into it for a bunch of repairs. That really soured me on the car.
I've been wondering how it's doing, with your mods it's probably what I really wanted. (And selling let me buy the 90 Celica GTS race car from the Pro/Celeb series.)

Tial 38mm wastegate and a MAF kit really wake these up, in addition to what you've done Cotton.

I told myself I was just going to do exhaust and tune and leave it alone, but yes now I am debating between tail 38 and Lindsey dual port and also a MAF kit. I'm annoyed with myself because if I go with a MAF kit the tune I just bought and installed will be wasted money, but I still think that's where I'll end up. I'm stacked up with repairs and upgrades on other cars at the moment, so these new mods will probably be a summer project.

I think you'd like the performance A LOT better now, but yes the parts and repairs can get expensive.

Needed an alignment after the suspension work. Everything came out great
I hit one snag during the DME chip install. It turns out this car has an upgraded DME from Focus 9 technologies. Unfortunately it accepted 28 pin chips and my LR chip is 24 pin. I reached out to F9T and he said he would upgrade the board to accept either chip for free, however in browsing his website I noticed he had a newer DME offering that included on board diagnostics. Naturally, since I can't leave anything well enough alone, I upgraded to that DME.
