Well at least you have one to forget. I haven't gotten that far yet. Still using my LG2 as a video camera for the moment. To much cash into the car right now. I run 2 SOLO events this coming weekend here in MI, but I so want to do a hill climb at some point in the future. Didn't see any Mustangs on the list so maybe I can add one in a few years.

Also the SuperChicken just looks plain scary to me! Was it a real Audi at one time or just parts of one?

It has an Audi engine and drive-train. The rest is custom made. It got the name super chicken because of the blow off valve in an older version of the car. It made a strange sound and someone said it sounded like a super loud chicken. Thus it was christened the Super Chicken.

At NEHA events we often make up names for cars and they just stick. One guy has a STI that is named Frog Slayer because he arrived at the event with a dead frog stuck to the front of the car. The Mod Heavy is another one that stuck. There is a Mod Lite that Sherman Baumann runs which is a small motorcycle powered modified. Someone said "If he is a lite, you must be a heavy". Again it stuck.

I forgot the GoPro (again) but thanks to Angela Dispirito for catching me at the start. I was trying out launching the car in 3rd gear. When I run the 5.04 rear gears I normally launch in 2nd but I was spinning enough I decided to try 3rd.

Stang-guy, there are mustangs on occasion, but now seems to be a dry spell for them. You also have a newly returning hillclimb in Michigan called the empire hillclimb, if you were looking for something close to home.

Yeah, but at this point my car isn't legal to run because of no cage in it yet. They don't have any exemption to get around that for know. The car is being set up to compete in SCCA SOLO Classic American Muscle class. The cage is probably a couple of years out. Future future future!

We have the same deal with nick names. Some given, some earned amd some just applied by the owner. I call my Mustang the Bad Pony, we have a guy who has a 95 Cobra R called princess and there is one running around called the evil twin.

Also I can't imagine what you would do to those poor tires in first gear!

You don't have to have a cage. Without one you just have to run under a breakout time.

The Empire Hillclimb in Travrse City, MI is running under NASA rules I think. Any how I contacted them about running in it and was told with out atleast a 6 point with a cross brace on the rearward down bars I couldn't run. On my to do list is to get an SCCA Competition license and run TTs which is a stepping stone in to hill climbs. I know I can't fit one into my schedule this year, but maybe I can contact you over the winter to get more info.

Just have to show up in VT then. NEHA has the breakout rule I was talking about. Different series different rules. I know that the PA hillclimbs allowed cars without cages to run recently but I think it depends on what class they fall into. Actually that is true of NEHA as well. Anything that is a street car or that can pretty much pass as a street car under our Street Prepared rules can run without a cage under a breakout time. Full on race cars need a cage.

Ascutney is a bit rough at the top. As in bend and break things if you are really trying to go fast and refuse to lift for any of the bumps. I can't really complain. The stock car suspension is really tough and cheap to fix when something does give. This clevis is actually of questionable quality anyway I think it was less than $5. I'm upgrading to a $20 part made of better steel.

Just a little bending there! But the big question was the damage worth it for the win?

It still is an offset car.

No offset has been harmed in the making of this hillclimber.

No, I haven't. But then I've never even really driven on a track. There was one time on a quarter mile oval but that is it. The quarter mile oval was a club event where we did a flying mile time trial. One lap to get up to speed and then four laps timed. I won that event. It was like the car was made for it.

It's being held at Virginia International Raceway. It's for the guys that have extreme track cars dedicated to that type of running. It's all about time around VIR. I won't say your car or you wouldn't do good, but the cars there are Vipers, Porches, Vettes and open cockpit racers. If you can think of a fast car people race it will probably there. If you do a quick search it'll pop. You probably find a linkk right here on GRM.

Burke hillclimb was last weekend. Didn't do much to the car other than change the oil since the last event. Thinking about a new carb but still not sure if it is going to happen. But I can't complain too much when I'm sitting at the top of the results.

Just in case anyone else was curious what the 'Mad Max Dart' looked like.

Very cool that you have the car dialed, it's like my Miata for autocross except for the part where I'm consistently at the bottom of the list :)
