Loud exhausts are even more annoying in the WRX wagons because the hatch area resonates the crap out of the exhaust note and drones at certain speeds. I had that issue in mine back when I had it.
Also, get some Forester suspension in that thing and jack it up!
I considered Forester suspension, but it's just a bit more lift than I wanted. Wearing axles, subframe spacers, etc wasn't worth it.
Pretty content with the 1" lift and oversized tires
Undercoated it with Fluid Film.
Finally found a good enough deal to replace the drivers seat. 288k miles does things to Subaru seats... the foam is a completely different shape in the new one.

Guess I haven't updated this in a while... some random pics from the winter/spring/summer:
And, as it sits now. New Forester struts (KYB Excel-G), 225/60-17 on BBS RK's. (Stock tire size is 205/55-16)
Fin.
At 296k miles, the rust gods claimed another victim.
I was vacuuming it last week and noticed a lot of dirt that seemed to be coming out of the c-pillar. Pulled the trim and found a quite large hole in the drivers side rear strut tower and a smaller hole in the pass side. Combined with a tender rear subframe and it was time to pull the plug.
I traded it + cash for a 2005 Outback tonight. It will be used as a drivetrain donor for a GC Impreza.
