Well. I picked up the wheels last night. They appear to be some Chinese brand Compomotive knockoff. I found the part number but google says it's a 4WD wheel. Soooooo.

I also ordered my tires. Went with a 215/65 General Grabber A/TX which is suppose is the replacement for the AT2. Either way. Woot. I plan to strip the wheels. Sand a couple spots and mount tires then repaint them white. Ordered some new lug nuts as well!

Not my car but similar. At least tire size. I will have a little more space as my wheels are 16x8.

I did a test fit. Pretty sure I'm gonna have to lift this.

Sorta too late. I had that Christmas cash burning a hole and ordered new 08 forester struts and springs and trailing arm spacers. Idk. I think it will look good. I will probably roll them too. I do have a roller.

Ride height will be good for off-roading.  The local guy in the black blob eye RS does everything in it.  It does rallycross, off-roading in Utah and autocross.

Those wheels are gonna look great. I'd like to find something similar for my Audi

How do those tires (rubber) smell?  I love that smell.

Imagine a whole warehouse full of rubber hose.

Never knew they made an auto RS.

Interesting.

They made auto GC RSs, and the base model GD was the 2.5RS until they renamed it the 2.5i late in production (06 or 07).  The STI was the only one you could only get with manual trans.

Plenty of auto WRXs too.

Yes. I just bought one.  They have a rear biased planetary center diff with a clutch lockup, like DCCD except not user controllable.  Most non turbo 4EATs don't have the center diff, just the clutch to the rear.

Two of the wheels are done the other two need a bit more dry time and sanding I have some imperfections I was unhappy with.

And all painted up. The other two as I mentioned I need to resand.

I'm thinking you may need box flares to clear those!

It's gonna need bigger box flares.  It needs box flares for its box flares.

Was wondering when head gaskets & wheel bearings would be mentioned. These 2 items should be on every used Subaru buyer's Christmas list. Our Forester seemed to eat rear wheel bearings annually.

Idk? The wife's 11 Forester is fine but this car.....idk? I checked and found the EJ253 has no head gasket issues. I suppose that meant coolant wise as mine is pissing oil externally. I suspect internal as it still gets a cylinder three misfire when it's sat. Mmmm. It's a love hate thing right?

In reply to bonylad :

External leaks are the normal issue, the whole bottom of the deck is the oil return like a pushrod engine, and the gasket area is poorly supported.

Most of the time it's actually the oil pan causing most of the mess, but given that the easy way to do the pan involves pulling the engine (probably the easiest engine pull ever) then at that point it's a hundred bucks or so for a head set.

This. My ocd is making me do this. It's making me pull it all to clean e engine and bay. It's making me replace gaskets and seals that may not need it but damn sure are gonna be. I'd like to not drive someplace and smell burning oil. It's the small things. Lol

I had a set of those Generals on my old Outback. Loved them in deep snow and off-road. Road noise and gas mileage got worse as you'd expect, but overall they were great.
