Yep - that's a very stout LT1. Good score.
It should be capable of a high 12. Obviously traction is going to be the limiting factor with 255 treadwidth 200 treadwear tires.
Yes, a CAM eligible car must do everything on 200tw.
I have a set of slicks that I can't use for the car, because rules..

I wish you the best of luck. Track prep should save you though. On lousy surfaces mine will break loose 275 RE71R (just as the revs climbed in 1st gear after a gentle launch) and I'm down at least 50whp compared to yours.

Oh ok. I wanted to stuff as much ture as possible so at 275/40/17 my options were limited. Either nitto or r888s.

The car came with a set of 18x10.5 wheels. I had visions of 305 inch wide re71's until I priced them and realized the 255 RS4'S from my s10 were in perfect condition and I already owned them.
Do NT05s live up to claims that they are better drag tires than most other 200TW AX/RR focused tires?

18x10.5 you say? Tell me more.....

NT05R are excellent. Last set of NT05 non rs i had gripped very well. I didnt drag race with them but on a non prepped surface they were excellent. I can only imagine they would perform better on a prepoed surface.

c5 corvette z06 rear wheels are 18x10.5. Chinese 28-pound knockoffs available for $150 apiece brand new. Most economical way I found to get a new 10+ inch wide wheel for a GM car.
I keep looking for a deal on 200tw tires. All I'm finding is hoosiers and R1's. One new set of shaved RE71r 285s for $900 pops up but unless you are planning to actually use the camaro that seems like a lot.
pimpm3 said:On the car and off... not sure what brand they are but I like them.
If you decide they need to go away and are cheap enough .....
The camaro came out really nice.
It did great in the autocross with a 47.4 even though the wore out 255's really held it back.
Unfortunately it struggled in the drag race. Unbeknownst to us at the time, it fouled the spark plugs out with all the idling in the autocross. When it came time for the drag runs we couldn't break a 15.1 at 94 mph. Twice the track officials told us we were leaking fuel and twice a thorough inspection revealed no leaks. We figured out later that it was unburnt fuel coming out of the exhaust which dumps under the car.
We ended up 20th overall and 2nd in CAM. I think it would have easily been a top 10 car with a fresh set of plugs. Despite the setback we had a great time and the car came out great.
I want to thank everyone who helped with the build in the parking lot especially Chris, Andy, Richard, Tod, Ted and Chis.
My time with the Camaro will hopefully be limited, I am listing it on Facebook and craigslist next week. I am hoping to get a decent bit for it given that it is now a nice car...
A shame about the plugs. Did you find a reason it is running rich or is it going to keep fouling them when idling a long time?

I really enjoyed battling it out with you. Idk if you saw but i only beat you by less than half a point. It was closeeee.
We tricked the ECU into running in open loop the entire time taking the o2 sensors out of the equation. Now that it is not budget restricted I will get a set of plugs and two o2 sensors to fix the issue so we can have it run closed loop.

It was great meeting you and your wife this weekend. You guy fit right in with all the regulars.
It was super close all weekend, I think it came down to the presentation...
