sounds like VATS is still working.
In reply to NOHOME : I'm just not sure, but hopefully my visit to the tuner tomorrow will flesh things out. Thanks for the input. I'll let you know.
If I knew how to upload a video, I'd place my first walk-around here. The tuner did magic. It turns out all the problems were in the lack of proper tune on the PCM. A couple of sensors had been deleted and the firing order had been reversed. Once a mild setup was placed into the PCM, she started right up.
Now on to the exhaust system and getting all the indicators to work, speedo, fuel tank, etc. Tach seems to work, battery, temp, oil pressure, all seem okay. More to follow.
In reply to Honestbroker : did you use a rear end with disk brakes? Also if so how did you run brake lines to it since the master cylinder only have spots for 2 lines.
In reply to Ryanbaker0214 : Brakes are stock for now. I had rear drums resurfaced and new pads/shoes all around. There was some minor rerouting of some of the lines, but very minor. Rear end is stock for now. Checking with several Isuzu forums seems to say the rear end is supposed to be good for ~400 hp. I'm not near that. Here are a few photos. Truck's running and behaving.
In reply to Wolf_sargent : Thanks. I gotta tel you that the swap was a bit more than I expected. I'm glad it's pretty much over. I'll also say that, apart from figuring out how to fit everything in, the forums were both a curse and blessing. I spent a ton of time trying to make sure I had good sound info.
Best of luck with your build. If you have questions about a Vortec/LS swap into your pickup, fire away. I'll try to get you a good answer.
Sorry for the late response. Here's what I used. They fit (tight) and no leaks so far.
I did not build this for racing or anything like that. The engine presently puts out about 300 HP with single exhaust through a cat. It's fun to run around with, but not spec'd for high power. Tuner said it'd pull more if the exhaust was dual and the intake was more isolated. It works for me though.
