I am helping/mentoring my neighbor with his first engine swap.

Your neighbor favours the deep end of the pool does he? Or is the LSx swap into the 510 a blazed trail that I am not aware of?

It is not.
This should be awesome. I have always liked these cars, and turbos are fun. I will be watching this one.
That is a highway legal Human Electric Hybrid motorcycle. Based on an 81 Honda GL500. The pedals keep a normal bicycle cadence up to about 70 mph. The sensation is similar to walking on a moving walkway. Great work out. Pedaling is optional. The Build from start to finish is here:
He will need a parachute to catch the diff pin and spider gears when they shoot out of the rear axle!

Don't be so sure, I'm that noisy neighbor with the crappy lawn!

No problem, narrowed 8.8 Ford with welded axle tubes going in.

Yeah, but it sounds like you at least bring out that competitive spirit in your neighbours. Mine just stare angrily.

Then we'd get along great. My wife may hate you, but that'd be because every time she complained of how bad our yard was I'd say "at least it isn't as bad as next door."
Spent a couple of hours on my neighbors car today. We got the engine in place with the front crossmember and engine bolted in.
The big 4L80 trans fits well also

i'm with this guy. if you are loud and have a messy yard, it would take some of the heat off of me!

After a lot of the firewall and all of the trans tunnel disappeared.
A cage and subframe reinforcement will be needed to keep the windshield from popping out @ 200HP and so the doors will still open and close after the first hit!
Looks like fun!

All true. Most of the tunnel will get reused and yes a full cage is going in along with reinforcements under the front fenders where the rockers tie in
I'm almost afraid to ask what's going to happen to the rest of the car, once the engine can no longer hold your interest.
