Nitrous nozzles? Send me pics of the ones you don’t want

We did that for the rx7 too.
Good call! Ill look at that
Dude, you're a genius!
Little trimming of the flange and an unused boss on the bellhousing and we will have miles of room. Going to do that as soon as i can.
In other news, brother Dustin is coming to help tomorrow night, and untouchabl, the wonderful gentleman who i bought this car from, is coming Saturday afternoon.
Goal for this weekend is the other header, exhaust, and sorting out the clutch hydraulics.
With some slight trimming of an underhood brace, everything fits under a stock hood.
I do want to vent the hood though. Ive seen pictures of where guys have cut lines in the hood, and bent the metal into a louver type of vent. Anyone got good info on that? A Google search came up with TONS of noise, and not a lot of promising results.
In other news, elky is officially totalled. Dammit.

Truly depends on the buyback amount. But probably. Im heading to look at a 65 here after a while. Good body donor will be needed.....
How about some holes in the hood, and metal screening, and some scrap molding to doll it up. Something looking like the early Camaro hood vents.

I've been thinking about your statement all afternoon. Cosmetically I like the idea of louvers far more. I also think louvers may work better as far as Scavenging the hot under hood air. Not sure though.
I was hitting the easy cheap button with that one. Don't know if aerodynamics play a role or not. I'm sorry about your El Camino. Hope all works out, and that you and your friend continue feeling better.
The answer kind of varies on where the vents are on the hood... and what's "upstream" of them (i.e. infront).
Molding in front could help, since it should help create a bubble of low pressure after it, which will help pull air out of the hood.
edit:
the same could be true of the "cut and twist up louvers"... as long as the first one stays attached to the body work.
this google image search might explain what I'm trying to convey?
This may be rediculous, but I wonder if it would work. Cheap and easy.

Above are a set of louvers I did on my crappy Dodge truck. I used one of these:
Basically, Mine worked out OK because it was a flat surface. I cut the slot the width of the jaws(long side), plus 2X the length (short side) of jaws in the picture. I centered the jaws, and just pulled the pliers up. I believe better results than I got are attainable with heat. FYI, the negative(flat) space equals the positive (bent) space when you are doing your layout, if that makes sense. I hope this makes some kind of sense.
I've done something similar quite a few times.
You really need a hammer that can get into all the areas of your jig.
I keep a few cheap HF hammers I can grind to shape as the needs arise.

That actually looks like a good idea! Ill have to hold on in my hands.
Gtx: unfortunately, the only guy around here that does them is a dick. I will NOT support his business.
Crackers: you make that look far easier than it probably is. Also, would you be willing to make and ship a pair of those slip fit flanges? Im going to try to make my own, but if i fail miserably i want to have a backup plan.
Other header 1/2 way done, and seat solution is bought and in the works. Not as productie a weekend as i hoped.
That isn't me in the video. It's just one I watched some time ago and constantly gets suggested by YouTube for some reason, so I knew how to find it easy enough.
It really is easy though. Just take your time, and after 4-5 tries you'll be ready to try it on your hood.
Shaping metal is usually a matter of slowly sneaking up on the shape you're after. If you spook it it will get goosebumps.
I'd be happy to make some split flanges, but I think you can make it happen. Just let me know.
