I'm stopping for a lunch break, so here's the mid-way project update: Struts. Passenger side complete, driver side in a few minutes
partially removed the Cowl section
Drivers side complete, test flight successful 
I paid a couple extra bucks and got Monroe brand name instead of some generic. Also, buying them loaded is definitely the best way to go. I'll update the budget later tonight.
Indy-kid #1 helped with an oil change yesterday after I did the struts. When we jacked it up, we discovered this:
Yep; Bummer. CV boot puked out it's grease. Everywhere.
I must have burned it up while applying heat to the stuck biolt on the stuts.
Anyone have a suggestion on how to replace just the boot without pulling the entire axle? ? ?

Indy-kid #1 has aquired her permit and here she is Piloting Voyager on the road for the first time.
She's very excited!

Funny how reading about Priuses (Prii?) On GRM of all places makes me look at them, and realize over here they're amazingly cheap forms of decent transportation as well.
Now I kinda want one.

Not exactly fixed, but I wrapped it with several layers of Seran Wrap and a couple of zip ties.

With some patience, diligence and a willingness to wrench on them yourself, they provide a good value at economical transportation. Not sporty or fun to drive, just a cheap basic car.

Thanks for the heads up on this one. I'm in the Indianapolis area (hence Indy-Guy), so Denver is a bit too far away.

In this other CV thread of yours I predicted that if the plastic wrap lasted 6 days, it would last 6 months. Seems like you're 1 month into it already! Success.
So, Indy-kid#1 is officially a licensed driver, and so "Voyager" is getting used to go to & from school and shuttle her siblings to sports practices.
The state of the center console has always bothered me on this car, so I ordered a replacement cover and we installed it today:

Indy-kid1 had her first accident last week with her brother (Indy-kid2) in the car. Near the end of our (rural) road, a fire truck turn the corner and was rapidly approaching her as it was taking up most of the road. She got over a bit too far to the right (to avoid it) & she clipped a mailbox.
It also broke off the passenger side mirror.
I'm proud of her for several things:
She didn't hit the fire truck head on.
Chose to hit mailbox instead.
She stopped and found out whose box it was & exchanged information.
First accident was minor, no insurance claim, and she's unharmed.
Together we went and replaced the damaged mailbox.
Mirror glass wasn't broken, so just a bit of duct tape to the rescue.
Good for her to make amends!

A few weeks ago I ordered replacement cabin filters for our fleet of Priuii. We finally got around to installing them last night.
It's an easy and quick job, and WOW, did it need to be replaced.
Look what's in there:
Some varmint was nesting in there and chewed up the filter
New one going in
And a job well done
Learning the value of maintaining and caring for something is a lesson she will carry forward in her life; well done Indyguy!
