Rescue of a Talladega Red Saab SPG

Hey Guys,

I recently purchased and drove home a ragged SPG. This is my second SPG, I sold my black one when we had our daughter and have regretted selling it ever since. This one came up on ebay a couple months ago, and against my better judgment, I went for it. This will be the third car I've revived, renewed, restored, whatever you want to call it. The other two were an '88 black SPG and '68 Chevy Corvair. I've got loads of pictures from both cars that hardly anyone has seen. 

For this one, I thought it would be fun to film the process. I'll be posting video of my progress on youtube and will post here to keep GRM in the loop. I'm sure I'll be looking for some advice along the way. I hope you all enjoy!

I bought it, so time to get it home.  I could have had it shipped, but whats the fun in that?  Here is my experience driving the car home from Wisconsin to Montana.

Yes! Lots of love for SAAB here on GRM, but not enough project cars. My '85 900 notchback got relegated to backup car about a year ago. 404,000 miles and going strong.
