I hope your team is having fun at the Challenge! Really crossing my fingers hard that everything goes well with the car.

We got interviewed by jg for something with a video camera. I was the fat bearded man in the tan shirt.
Alan mccrispin asked to drive out car. Im excited to see how it does. Plan for our six autocross runs: each of us gets a run to shake it out, and give alan the other 3.
Mazduece sticered the car, and it really brought it to the next level.
Passed nhra and scca tech with flying colors. They seemed to be impressed with the amount of safety wr built in at performance expense.
Very much fun. The people and feel of the thing so far has been absolutely mind blowing. I cant describe it.
Our build book was completed by steve, and was 3 inches thick.
Mazduece wrote the story of the car in a vey metaphysical way that i couldn't get to, despite 7 attempts.
Reaction to the car has been mind boggling. I really didn't expect it. Thought it was a pretty basic, simple, slightly hack build. Apparently im wrong.

Maybe it's a hack build *to you*, but you're the driveabeater guy with the mad sexy Duster and ElCamino. You just had the AMC parked next to the wrong cars!
In reply to AngryCorvair :
You're absolutely right. I also have the disadvantage of seeing every mistake and flaw because i know where every single one is.

I have a bond with my FIL because we are both the kind of people that see these mistakes. Most of the bond is him hating on me for walking up to a just finish project of his and quietly pointing out all the mistakes he made. Letting him know that I pay attention to such detail. Believe it or not he likes that I do. His two sons are oblivious. When he comes over I'm usually pointing out my mistakes and asking him how he'd do it differently.
This is a hell of a lot of fun. Mim, dad, snowmongoose, mazduecs, us, and others have spent the last few hours talking about everything under the sun, swapping stories, and snacking.
We brojebtwice in autocross, got it back together, and made sure its good enough to run down the strip.
Im amazed at the caliber of our competitors.
We are mid 3rd of the field right now, wich was my wildest dreams for success.
Im very happy and want to live this as long as i can.
If thats the crown vic engine you picked up 3-4 seconds over the stock car! Thats pretty damn good since most of your budget is in suspension.

That was the live feed. I wondered if that was you or another team member.
Holy crap we have gotten massive response. From everyone. I have heard rumors of protest because "theres no way to do that for 2k".
I think im proud of that.
just think if you'd had the room to include the nitrous
best response: go read the thread, it's all there

As with most American Motors products, if parts don't break, that means they're not getting used properly. Mostly it's a rule for jeeps but I'm pretty sure it applies to race cars too.
Broken parts are a good sign I think. Great job on the build and the competition.

Dump a bottle of Blue Devil in her and let her rip!
Did you have to push it through Concours?

Hell no.
Its just low oil pressure. We drove it!
We gad one autocross and a little running through the neighborhood beforecoming.
With another bit of fixing and sorting, we have a bunch more in her.

Interesting, I'd be interested to see some detail shots of the flares failure. Good job on the weight!
I still think if you'd painted the flares midnight blue metallic none of these troubles woulda occurred
