Hey guys,
I had started putting this engine together for another project. Part way through assembly I decided to take a left at Albuquerque and build an entirely different car around the engine.
Mid 90's BMW 4.4L M62 v8 block & rotating assembly
Early 90's BMW 4.0L M60 heads & cams & double roller timing chain & gears
Eaton M112 from late 90's Jaguar, using Jag intercoolers & injection sitting on an adapter to bolt to BMW heads,
The T is still just a pile of parts as I'm collecting more & more as financials allow. But at this stage you can begin to get an impression of the character and demeanor of the rod.
Speedway standard '23 bucket fiberglass cab, Repro '32 Ford grill:
Mid 70's Jaguar independent rear & BMW Getrag 420g 6spd manual trans:
Rear whee's & tires, American Raving VN502 15"x10" and M&H 30"x14.5" (12" tread) Cheater Slicks:
Piecing things together:
A few more parts trickling in:
...next up will be a frame.
Stay tuned, I'll be back to post updates.

Wow!
You dared to be different! That's for sure. I'll be following along with interest.
Any more details on the supercharger conversion on the BMW lump?
I always thought the M60/62 would look great in an open hood hot rod.
That engine you built elicits a physical response from me
Where did you find the BMW double roller parts? We are resurrecting a M62 but back to factory. Is the block sleeved or does it still have the coating on it? Beautiful execution by the way.

The timing parts are all M60B40 before the M62 went to single chain. Not sleeved. Thank you
I really like your plan for this. It looks like it is going to be fun.

This is awesome. Your motor looks fan-frickin-tastic.
This is one fine build! Watching closely!

I don't have any welding skills, but I'm willing and wanting to learn. I've had my eye on a frame from a company called CCR out of southern Ca, they make a frame that the jag rear will bolt on. In reality, in the name of budget I will likely order a Speedway bare nostalgia frame with the spring perch, and then practice those welding skills. I'd prefer to order a pre-fab frame, in my mind they are likely to be square as they are welded on a jig. Then I can attach whatever tabs and brackets I'd need by measuring once and cutting twice...
Oof. This is freakin cool. I'm looking forward to following this one.
very nice. sure to be the only T with that running gear!
This is awesome, It's hard for me to pick a favorite feature but the jag rear end with inboard brakes is probably near the top.

I used a CCR frame as the base of my Pinto project. After adding up the cost of all the metal and the time it was better for me to get the prefabbed frame. They do nice work and took the guesswork out of the rear end.
Can this really be called a "build"? I mean, Challenge entries are builds, this is on another level. No one ever looked at the Sistine Chapel and said "nice ceiling paint".
holy crap those inboard brakes, that supercharger, wow.

I lost it at this comment haha but absolutely applies to this build
Oh yes.
And im not even a hot rod person.
