Runs pretty well, I think! It's definitely one of those cars that needs to be driven.
Messed around with the Defender a bit. New rear bumper. I replaced all the lights with LED arrays but didn't grab pictures.
My girlfriend wants to pull all the badging/stickers off which normally I'm a fan of but I think it's just going to get even more people talking to her asking what it is. But, it's her truck so they'll be coming off.
The carpeted headliner was disintegrating. Anytime you touched it or shook the truck a fine fuzzy powder would sprinkle over everything. It was gross. I yanked it, sound deadened the panels I put up a nice fancy suede headliner.
Somehow I didn't get pictures of the final product. Seems to be a trend.
Also figured out one of the reasons it was so slow. A boost hose was cut and modified(?)
It looks like it was stuffed with some random wire mesh to hold shape. Brilliant! Luckily I had a bunch of silicone couplers laying around and one fit.
I'm in the process of yanking the dash now and replacing the a/c system with an updated modern all in one unit.
Went to a fancy dinner place and got some decent parking. Haven't washed the car in too long but the girlfriend told me to take some pictures.
Not much else to report. Moved the toyota motorhome into the driveway in prep for a/c install. And now I look at the forecast and it's supposed to rain until wednesday. Perfect.
Did a bunch of small stuff to the ramp truck. LED headlights, tail lights, marker lights, turn signals. Mounted a tach in prep for the manual swap. Ditched the tiny little steering wheel for an OE replacement from LMC. Replaced the seatbelts with....functioning seatbelts. And somehow the only thing I took a picture of was the tach install.
Installing the tach moved the fuel gauge to the bottom left and now that weird aluminum trim piece blocks most of the gauge. It will be getting yanked as soon as I order a good condition gauge surround. Mine's all cracked up behind that snazzy aluminum.

And eventually I got around to taking some pictures! It's real hard to capture how nice it is. It's very dark in person and you barely see any texture. Way too nice for a farm truck.
Lately I've been either working on the racecar, or the toyota RV. I installed A/C and fixed the water heater in the motorhome so this year when the girlfriend works up at the haunted house she won't be freezing her ass off!
Yesterday I started fitting the new dash setup. It's one giant fiberglass piece with a few 3d printed parts stuck on for switch packs and dials. It's small but takes up a ton of space in this little truck. The biggest hurdle here is wiring. The factory wiring is absolute trash and it's been hacked onto by an old spanish farmer. Lots of places he didn't even use t-taps. He just cut the insulation back, wrapped the new wire around the old and taped the heck out of it. It's frustrating. But, I can fix it. It'll just take time.
I don't know how confident I am about that grab handle. It's just screwed into fiberglass...

You better get us some pics of your SS when it arrives ! !
I'm so pumped for this.
The BiTurbo looks like it was a steal! In the trailer photo, I'm impressed with the water beading especially. It seems like the PO took care of the car.
I sent you a PM regarding your Defender. Please let me know if you don't find it.
I still haven't had time to dig through all the spare parts and documentation with that car. It impresses me, a lot. It has developed a weird whine/growl that feels like it's coming from the rear that disappears when I hit the brakes.
I went to an all e30 car show over the weekend. Attendance was down a little this year because of a bureaucratic change and ticket price increase. I don't like it, but I understand where the organizers are coming from. Ticket prices have been $20 for almost 20 years. There were a lot of people "boycotting" the show. Which is disappointing. I like seeing all the different variations of e30 people come up with. I was simultaneously enthralled and overwhelmed. I took a single picture. But some others took pictures of my cars. Most importantly, I shoehorned my newly upholstered recaros into the car on saturday for the sunday show. Even had time to wash the car!

Thanks! They're ridiculously comfortable and really cool because they're not just a black seat like all my other cars.

I like several elements of the 14-15 better than my 17: cleaner front fascia, non-vented hood, wheel design, silver calipers. I love mine! I hope you enjoy yours.

I kind of like the vented hood but I'm okay without it. I love the car so far! It's so nice!
dyintorace said:Looks super low. Does it have an aftermarket suspension?
It is very low. I know it has aftermarket springs(don't know what kind) and the stock mag struts. The road I drive down to get to my work's parking lot has a single train track crossing it and the SS hits strut bottom if I'm not careful while my 30 year old e30 on H&R springs doesn't. Weird.
I have a dyno tune scheduled for the 25th.

I'm 99% certain it's stock internally. But when that was the soonest I could get on the books, I did start perusing h/c setups...
