It's a brushed DC motor with the two wires, which means you're controller is a stupid cheap option you can wire directly to your power supply. Since it's a 40v, will you do 3 lead acid batteries or come up with a replacement lithium solution?

use the battery and motor controller that came with the mower. ive considered trying to use the mower battery with a voltage regulator to power the motorcycle motor but i haven't sunk much thought into it. the stock agm battery is pretty light.

You can pull about 30amps from those Hart 40v before you run into problems.  I wouldn't use that battery for much other than the motor, the Hart batteries have no over-draw protection, it's all in the tool so you can run them dangerously flat if you use them as power sources.

So major progress was made! the initial chassis is in place. its entirely made of 1" and 1-1/8" chromoly in .059 wall. this thing is light! the motor is about 130-150 pounds but as the chassis sits it cant be more than 15-20 lbs of steel. A vehicle weight under 250 is the goal i just gave myself but it may be less than that hopefully.

Nice!

There will be more tubing in the chassis? If not it will bend right behind the motor I think.

Excited to see what you come up with for triangulation.   Remember the engine will take a little stress they are stressed members in the motorcycle typically.

  1. Haven't been updating this like I should but major progress has happened! I could basically drive it at this point except i have no brakes or throttle control.

Bonus points if you make the headlights functional, and triple extra super duper bonus points if you make 'em pop up like the '80s Porsches.
