2000 Honda Insight -SOLD
Enough goodwill auction cars grace my driveway that you could just consider me goodwill and donate it to me...

Does the vehicle on the dolly have a trailer hitch on it?
Okay, this generated more than zero interest which was unexpected.
I have two sets of wheel covers, neither is on the car right now. I was going to cut one set out to 'normal' wheel arch openings.
The exhaust is loose at the 'donut' gasket after the 1st catalytic converter. The muffler was also cut off by one of the PO's. It was clamped on (poorly) for the first 2 years of my ownership and has been off for the last 2. The car sounds a bit agricultural currently, mostly due to the leak up front. Removing the muffler didn't do much for the sound.
Paint is mostly ok I think. My daughter put a couple of scratches on the passenger side with her scooter or bike or something. See pics.
I've gotten P1447 and P1449 IMA codes. I didn't get the grid charger early enough to maintain the back before it got out of balance and I'm pretty sure at this point that a couple of sticks are just bad. I haven't been on the insight forum much recently but it seems that the bumblebee batteries have not fared as well as oem honda batteries. I'm not interested in pulling the pack, testing all the sticks, and putting in unmatched ebay sticks but that would be a viable option for someone else. If there was anything close to a supported DIY lithium pack swap I would be all over it. The car was pretty decent when the battery was strong and with a current hack it could be downright entertaining. If I end up keeping it and doing anything significant to improve the car it will be getting a Honda Civic manual trans swap or a Fit gearset swap into an insight case.
Oh yeah, It has a bunch of the typical insight faults: wet seatbelt syndrome, leaks around the rear quarter windows, non functioning hatch release, only a couple strips of the defrost work.
But no crunchy synchros.
Dumb question because I know so little about these. Does it drive with a bad battery pack? I assume it does but with worse gas mileage? And how intensive is battery repair? I weirdly love the yellow wheels lol
Oh shoot. I was just thinking about one of these. I'm at Mid-O this weekend, but assuming you don't sell it before then, I want to come take a look at it Monday evening.

Email me if you want to come check it out. First part of username at yahoo dot com.
UPDATE: The insight popped a rear brake line this morning. I drove it home.
$800 as-is
Somebody come and get it so I don't have to work on it.
This would be a sweat challenge car with any fwd drivetrain swap a` la the quad-4 crx .
