My wifes white 09 Subaru WRX 5 speed 5 door currently at 189160 mile is up for sale.
She wanted someting taller and with an automatic as her knees are toast. The only aftermarket parts are LED headlamp bulbs and PowerStop slotted rotors. We've owned it since it was a turned in lease in 2011. Runs well, slight tick on cold winter starts but that normal, rockers are toast but it still passes Mass inspection, it has dings and a few surface rust spots that were coated with converter but never top coated. The dealer added heated seats when we purchased it, I added Factory fog lights and Factory headed mirrors, I have Factory roof rack cross rails still in the factory sealed box (bought them when we got the car never opened the box... Passangers front wheel bearing was done in Febuary of 24 there does seem to be a CV shaft that will need replacement soon as you feel a lump at full lock when turning forward and backing up. Battery is from 2015 but in good working order.
I want it out of the yard! Come drive it home.
$2500 or BO Located in North Central Mass
It's due for an oil change, if GRM meamber buys we can change it before you leave have the K&N filter and Shell T6 oil on hand. Also have extra brake pads and likely engine air and cabin air filters and 4 spare wheel bearing ect.
Man, this is tempting. I passed it along to a few buddies first though. Any more pics of the rust?
Not in the the market but $2500 or best offer seems like a great bargain. GLWS

Other than the rockers, any other rust concerns?
How far from Holden/Worcester are you?
In reply to No Time :
45 minutes. I do it daily..
In reply to Tony Sestito :
I'll shoot some close ups but its around the hatch window a few Quarter size places on the door molding strips. Only concern is the rockers realy. If she didn't find her new unicorn a 21 Blazer with a v6 and only 7k miles she'd still be driving it.

Damn, $2500 is a bargain. If I hadn't bought my WRX back in March I'd be looking up plane tickets. GLWS
I should buy this and dress it up like the RS6

Any idea how challenging the rockers are to replace? Or costly to have replaced?
It's tempting, but knowing I'd want it to last several years, I'd need to fix the rockers.

No idea, I have not looked into it as she wanted something taller for past 3-4 years. When I got the wheel bearing done in feb was when I noted how far it had gone.
I am looking for a track car, does the train from NYC run up there? If I can make it a business trip from work. Might be able to make this happen.
I'm definitely out on this one. Too many other rust repair projects already on the docket. Living in New England is such a joy. Good luck with the sale!
I took a rag with some solvent and wiped off the extra rust converter as it had turned dark on the white.
It's been sitting since April and fired right up.
Had sometime Sat to get it up on the ramps. Oil and filter got changed (K&N and shell T6 full syn). I tried to take some picture of the rocker rust. Tire are Toyo Celsius front two are newer as she got a flat and we did two new. Driver front .2520 pass front .2425 Driver rear .1790 Pass rear .1650
Surface rust around hatch and fenders got touched up, car got washed Sunday.
Goes in the lawn this week for $3500 rather it go to a GRM'er
It's a tempting deal, but I'm going to have to pass.
I'm really looking something smaller and more efficient for my son in place of his truck and this would be a step in that direction, but I don't think he has enough mechanical empathy (even though he's a tech for a local dealer) to avoid subjecting it to a quick death.
