I raced a SpecMiata for two years (2005/6) at Waterford Hills, a track the local SCCA crowd thinks is rough, and there wasn't a scratch on the car. I was running in the thick of things, 4th place to 7th sort of. I'm number 27. Now, every car I see looks like it's been through the wars.

I'd run it in our NASA group but have no desire to go towards SCCA or runoff crowd, they seem to either take out 1/4 of the field in a crash or worse have sent like 5 people to the hospital over the past couple of years.
