The family truckster is an 06 Toyota Rav 4. It has an issue with detonation just at tip in throttle, which is where I generally drive it. Give it any more throttle and it's fine. It has no check engine light and no stored codes. Due to it's lacking a carburetor, I don't know where to start looking.
Do they use a MAF? I don't remember.
Could just need some cleaning in the throttle body/MAF and the combustion chamber.
There should be some instructions online on how to clean the combustion chamber using water (essentially steam cleaning, just don't use too much or you'll hydrolock the motor)
