True the Laguna Seca boss ran a 46 on pretty sticky street tires. It looks and sounds very good.

However this POS Lemons car managed a 48 flat with a non pro (me) piloting it on 2007 production date Goodyear Eagle F1's.

I'd have thought being narrow would have help Casper ghost around the autocross track easier.

Theres no better place to spend your anniversary than the challenge, done it for 5 years straight. Till this year anyway.

Are the drags cancelled in the event of rain?

Everything is dried out down here. I expect things will be fine in Gainesville

We're going to be close on the weather. The track drying equipment is running hard, but the radar looks intimidating.

We're underway with the drags...cross your fingers that we'll get a full round in before the weather changes.

First run- Team Nelson's bug rips a (very sketchy) 10.5something.

Second run- Team SDAC lays down an 11.XX

Looks like the teams are making the most of the good weather window.

Oh yeah...and here are some more updates. More to come shortly.

They're Pirelli P-Zero Corsas, so street tires only in the strictest sense of the word.

Situation report: The rain is here. We're hoping for it to clear, but the radar doesn't look promising.
