Right now Pines has 188 workers registered. In the past, it has required around 240-250 volunteers to run, so we really need some help.
Please consider signing up to assist. Most people are required just for the day on Saturday. The needs for Thursday and Friday are taken care of.
If you were planning to come up - please consider volunteering. It gets you close to the action, a hot meal and subsidized accommodations. Details here:

If you want to sign up - head here:

Tell them Dave Cotie sent you - it will get me some extra entries in the draws!
If it wasn't the holiday weekend I'd be heading up.

What is funny is that we get a fair amount of feedback from American competitors that they like it being on the holiday, as it reduces the amount of time they have to take off, and others that positively hate it that way. It was moved back to the last weekend in Nov. last year to get more "Winter Roads and Summer Ditches" that Tall Pines has always been known for.
Enjoy your holiday and hopefully you get a chance to come up some year.
If anybody does make it up, say hi!!! You can't miss me - I am a big guy (6'4", over 300 lbs.), really short hair and will likely be wearing a bright yellow Tall Pines winter jacket. I will be driving one of the 000 course cars.

Yea, Bancroft and Tucson are not close.
For the benefit of others - Bancroft is about a 2-2.5 hour drive from the Alexandria Bay Border Crossing
to compete the holiday weekend makes it perfect, I believe Dave Shindel will be headed up again this year from down my way. To volunteer it makes it more difficult to shake free. I need to get up to some CRC/CARs events though, and clearly I need to get my stage projects completed to make it easier to shake free on the holiday weekend

Dave S. will actually be my co-driver in 000B!
I do understand that Thanksgiving is a big family holiday in the US, which is different from Canada. We tend to have bigger family gatherings at Christmas. This definitely would affect volunteers.
BTW - its CARS (Canadian Association of Rally Sport) - big S, not a little s.
In reply to NGTD:
see now I DEFINTELY need to get up there to play with you guys. You've likely heard of the fun that he's scheduled to have this weekend then? I'm kinda jealous that I'm not going to be able to make it out either weekend.

No I am not sure what Dave S. is up to this weekend. We have been emailing back and forth about next weekend but not this one.
