2017 Cruze hachback

Oh, and the Cruze hatch looks pretty good! I wonder if they will consider a SS version to compete with the wildly successful offerings from Ford.

I considered the GS for a little while, but the Caddy ATS seems to be a much better car for nearly the same money. And you can get one with a stick and RWD if you want.

Now, see, the ATS is a car I do not like. None of the drivetrains feel that sporty, the chassis doesn't really blow me away and the styling is gawkwy (There's way too much body over the rear tire, which makes the rear wheel/tire package look shorter than the front when viewed in profile). Plus there's the typical Caddy reliability (Read: nonexistent). I particularly despise the ATS after I had one kill the gauge cluster at 10K miles and then attempting to program a new cluster resulted in junking 3 more clusters for reasons that GM themselves to this day can not figure out. Talk about a clusterberkely.

Visually, it looks set to compete with the Focus.

I haaaaaate 5 door hatches. But I like the looks of this one. And that's saying something.

Not to get all pedantic, and I know this has been hashed out before. But, this drives me crazy (flame suit on) It's a four door. There are only four doors. You don't enter and exit through the hatch. It's a four door with a hatch.

the 2017 Cruze looks pretty cool but i agree that it kinda looked like the focus

My family and I love our '15 Cruze and to be honest, I would love to park this in my garage. Yes it resembles other cars, but isn't that what happens when someone has a successful platform? Sincerest form of flattery? Also, what car exists or has ever existed, within reason, that we all haven't wished it had more power :D

I still have 2 yrs payments on my Sonic hatch ... by then any bugs should be worked out of the Cruze hatch ...

I'd be very tempted .. especially if they came out with an Eco 6 version ... I don't need a hot hatch/any other kind of car these days ... 40+ mpg ... is my min. line these days ...

I'll agree with the 5 door hatch hate. It's more of a neutered wagon than a hatch at that point, IMO.

yep ... but I can live with a wagon ... so a 5 door hatch, while not my choice (3 door FTFW) is pretty much the same thing ... and far more prevalent than a 3 door ... it's what I'll be looking for somewhere down the road

I've personally always referred to 5-door hatchbacks as wagons, but I know that's the not the correct term and wanted to use the OEM's terminology for the car

Keep in mind that there IS a distinct Cruze wagon model, so it makes sense that Chevy would create a hatchback/wagon distinction. Like the Focus ZX5 hatchback vs the Focus wagon, it's logical looking at the two which would be which.

It is worth noting that the new cruze will not have the old 1.4t that everyone is familiar with, but a new direct injected mill that will be used in lots of different gm vehicles in the near future. that's why I'm willing to wait until my Sonic is paid for (2 more yrs) so most of the bugs can be worked out ... or at least will be well known and gabbed about on a regular basis on the Cruse forum

I always enjoy when I get a cruze for a rental car. I have one right now, 2016 LTZ model. It maybe because I drive a base 2016 WRX but the sound system is amazing compared to that so I'm thrilled. I'm very impressed with the interior quality, ergonomics, etc. Butt warmers in Central New York in the winter are a plus, remote start is also a plus, it doesn't feel like a complete slouch. The steering is numb and clunky but thats about all I can find wrong with it as an appliance.

Compare it to the Spark that I had as the last rental and it's night and day. What a complete piece of poop. I was cursing Chevy for the past few months because of that turd.

Also my co-worker is Cruz and I've been cruising in a Cruze with Cruz all week. So that was enjoyable.

we'll see how the Cruze hatch works out ... a '17 sounds like exactly what I want (even more than my '14 Sonic) plus it will have given USDM to work out any tweaks in the maintenance new to them

especially if I can get a color I like ... the Carolina Blue that I have now is tough to give up

Shame they never brought over the Cruze Estate/Wagon. I'd drive one of those in a heartbeat.
