Sure, it can be done, but:
A) Its going to be a bunch of compromises you don't want to make
B) Its 1000x easier to just grab a car that gets 2-3x the mileage for pennies. Or 4x-5x the mileage for less than your yearly gas bill.
+1 to get it running right first, then see where you are
the wet plugs are not bank specific, but they are the front two on one side and front one on the other. either way, more efficient 4 hole gen 3 injectors are ordered and shipped.
if this cures the rich issue, then ill add a few more things you guys suggested and maybe i can get 25! LOL...

In the rush to jump all over jm's vehicle choice (the last one I would make :) ), you guys are missing that he found an actual problem he needs to fix: he pulled 3 wet plugs. Also, short term fuel trim is -14. It sounds like the computer is pulling fuel to compensate for 3 pig rich cylinders.
I'm going to assume spark is OK or it would be running like crap. Hopefully the new injectors will improve things.
Separately, the next time tires come around (can't be long with the miles you log), I'd put the narrower OEM size back on: 235/75-15.

And I assume that you are going to make sure that you have 8 of the same injectors (dumb question, but it has to be asked).
ETA on the injectors?
BTW, "more efficient" is relative. They will make a better spray cloud cold, but once the engine is hot, you are injecting vapor regardless of what the injector is supposed to do (excepting direct injection). Your goal is to find a stock FLOW set (assuming that the air meter is unchanged) so that the fuel trim is as close to 0 as possible.
In the mean time, the PRNDL switch should be looked at. You did a test with the tp sensor, which I forgot about. But that should be looked at, and perhaps just changed. While you are doing trans work, make sure that it's getting and staying warm. Having a cold trans will really hurt fuel economy. Not to the degree you are, but it's not helping. Again, that could be related to the t-stat, since it cools via the radiator.

not to mention adding about an inch of diameter to the tires from stock.
THIS...go back to the old tires and you'll probably get 2-3MPG more than "as bought." But bigger tires are bad for aero, rolling resistance, and often bad for gearing.
I find this interesting. The most I can add is I drove a '93 F-150, ex-cab, long bed, 4x4, 300/6, OD 5 speed. The weight was, IIRC, between 5-5.4K. Straight highway It could hit 20, mixed was around 15. This was also on 235/75/15 with an off-road tread.
mfennel - short term fuel trim, ok THAT'S what that is. thats a good one to know and understand. thank you!
injectors will be in next week, so likely next weekend on the install. spark is good, all new from coil to plug. runs excellent...just drinks more fuel than the Toronto mayor smokes crack...TPS is new, i checked it with a DMM, .89 at idle, up to about 4.6v at WOT. no dead spots.
neon - i DO wish this was a manual...
