What is it? And the all important question what should power it?

Saab Sonett copy of some sort. It's close but not exact.
I've given this one some thought, I think it needs a mid-mounted superbike engine driving a sprocket limited-slip, and a full inboard suspension. All under $2010.

you thinking Bricklin? I think you are right.
Here's a body that sold for $200, plus some info:

So....an Amante GT is what you get when you leave a Sonnett and an Opel Kadett Rallye in a garage together too long?
With that long nose it seems like it'd be a perfect candidate for a small-displacement inline-6, something like an L24, RB20 or a bimmer motor. 20B would be cool, but good luck finding one (better luck affording it), SR20 would probably make for a fun car, but SR swaps are "boring". Or, say screw it and go 5.0 or LS1

Tag on the trailer is right also...
Maybe someone is up to something...
It is the Nelson compound its one of the few non-sbc motivated vehicles at said compound. I brought it to neon-hell this weekend

yes, that is what I was thinking, but after looking at pictures of one, it is not. No rear window. I also see that the answer has been found
