If you want to Lemons it, put it in something older. MTR has an MGB that we were going to use for Lemons with a V8 swap, but we are moving in a different direction now. We measured, and an 1UZ will fit. The car is rot free, with only surface rust.

I'm thinking an FJ or Hilux would be nice. However, how about a cressida or corolla wagon. RWD, tow hitch on the back. Can haul ass and stuff. For a completely different direction, a third gen supra.
i wanna stick an eg33 into a starlet... but I doubt the engine bay is wide enough. TUBE FRAME FRONT OF CHASSIS?
What did you end up doing? I just brought one home and I'm thinking about swapping it into a BiTurbo....
What do you want to tow?
If it's under 1500kg, go back to the Volvo idea. The Volvo chassis is rated to tow 1500kg, but it does it very slowly with a stock engine. More engine is good.
You can do what my buddy and I are doing...it IS 4 years in the making but hopefully will be finished by next summer. If you are looking for an easy, moderately difficult or extremely difficult swap look elsewhere though because this is the most involved swap I have ever seen!

I have always wanted a MKIII supra with the 2uz bottom end with high compression and a 1uz head with mean cams...
I say stick with an older Japanese model preferably from Toyota like a Cressida, Corona, Celica, Camry, Pick-up etc. I am talking 70s and 80s vintage. Keep it all in the family. Of course I have no idea if that motor would actually fit in any of those.
Whatever you put it in, can I make one request?

Yes, Yes, Yes, No, Yes in regards to "will it fit?"
Otherwise, why "keep it in the family"?
Chandler, I ended up selling my old house so had to do something with the LS400 fast. So I sold it to PubBurgers on here, who is driving it. Sadly that ended the 1UZ swap project .. for now. I still hunt and so may one day pick up another one.
Damn this place yet again.... I have spent most of my "lazy" afternoon looking for 1uzfe swap information into a pre-Tacoma truck chassis.
Ranger, look for Phil Bradshaw's writeup. They just don't call them "pre-Tacoma" trucks down in Oz and Kiwiland. They do them all the time and IO think Phil was even selling all the bits needed for a while. Don't know if he still is. Was it Lextreme? There's a couple of sites out here. Try googling up bradshaw 1uzfe.
For that matter, a Tacoma stretch cab would make a pretty good swap candidate but it might be a bit pricey.
