Becasue I like to torture myself over what I can't yet have I go Miata hunting. Check this one out. Look ast the crappy respray and the iffy front bumper. I think that's a blower under the CAI

Nope, no blower there, just the fancy schmancy CAI.
Are you sure, why have a CAI over the exhasut. What brand is it?

It says Power Pulse by Racing Beat on it.
But it doesn't look like any racing beat product I can find.
the car is 19 years old. There are lots of stuff made for it over the years that is no longer available. I don't think that the magazine that tested it in the link below is even around anymore.
power pulse
Jackson Racing used to sell a very similar looking intake setup.
The CAI is near the exhaust, because that's where the factory air box is. They use the bottom half of the factory box, and the one person that I know who had one said that it was possibly better than the normal airbox. Possibly. I think that he sold it when he went Spec Miata, though he may have moved it to another street Miata.
This is right down the street from me. If I have time after work, I'll go look at it and report back.

It's a racing beat air intake, I bought one 7 years ago for my first Miata. They can crack at the mounts, or in the center, especially if / when the motor mounts get worn. Made a nice sound, though.
