I've now come up to OST-040, and I'm looking for a head to do for this mini milestone.
I've had success with 5 different kinds of Toyota "A" heads - 16V TVIS, 16V smallport, 16V "F" head, and both 20V valve heads, I've had success with a Toyota 5MG and 7MG heads too. Along with the Toyota heads, I've also had success with an SR20VE head as well as a VVT Miata 1.8 head.
So... I can always do another "A" head, or another Miata head, OR maybe something different??
So, what are some ideas for heads I can do for #40???

LS or LT heads, or anything with a large community with a large number of them doing major power mods.
Results will be highly visible and if your results conpare favorably in price/performance category you can pick up many customers. This is coming strictly from a business standpoint.
As for just something cool, there are so many options that are readily available and are rarely ported. Like ford Gt40 heads, everyone just swaps them for Trickflow or AFRs.
Ford 2V PI heads, everyone runs boost or 4V heads.
1uz are pretty popular for swaps
Or do a boost motor like the 7mgt
Indy ta heads for a small block mopar? I'll even volunteer...
Since this is new... I'd like to be able to monitor progress... so I do have limits based on my equipment....
my flowbench has a current bore limit of 86mm, with a maximum capability (about $250 to upgrade) of 102mm(4").

Ford 2V or 3V Mod motor is pretty good idea.
I'd really like to have you do my G13B head, and it would fit your requirements quite well, but I'm going to assume that your work is A: not cheap and B: nobody has randomly stuffed my bank account full of cash.
Maybe I'll have all my ducks in a row when you get around to OST-050.
Correct me if I am wrong, but the ideal candidate would include:
-86mm max. bore
-Common enough that it is not impossible or massively expensive to source cores.
-Commonly tuned so you have a big potential customer base.
-At least some of the potential customer base should have deep enough pockets to undertake head rebuilds...this is where those of us in the AE86/AW11 community are a letdown; we are cheapskates!
Hmmm...get a new bore adapter made for 92mm and start doing Subaru heads (EJ)?
Failing that, I have a hard time coming up with a better candidate than a Toyota/Lexus JZ head.

If you have any interest in doing a Honda D16Y8 head (sohc vtec), I'm interested, we are freshening up the motor for the crapcan civic and have a healthy residual thanks to our B class win and subsequent move to A. The motor is very tired with 18k race miles plus who knows how many street miles before that.
Hmmmmm, did some local CL shopping.... I found (waiting to hear more) a Lancia DOHC 1.8 head...
But I have no idea of the market for a Lancia head... and as opti pointed out, a head with a wider market might be a good idea
AE86andkp61 has a very good idea, the JZ engine series has a pretty big market, with some porters getting close to $4 grand per head This should allow me to slot in as an affordable option... so I look on CL and low and behold....
a 2JZ-GE non VVT engine! Seller says rear sump valuable, as well as unusual, but I'm in it for the head.....
Sonic... send me an email oldeskewltoy@ yahoo(you know the rest) I'll be happy to discuss your Honda....
again another somewhat large market... but is it a bit like the "AE86/AW11 community"... with little or no money....
