I'm going to pick up a '94 tomorrow. I think it will look nice next to my P71.
Supposedly it needs a couple calipers, a new top, and a battery.
I want to stay in SCCA's "stock" class for solo II. What's a good battery for this car? They seem to be kind of unique.
I'd also like a red top to go with it being a red car, haven't really found anything like that in the 4 minutes I spent on line looking around though.
Pics to come.

asking that question around here is like asking if anyone around here knows how to poop...

I had to take three shots of alcohol from that post.
Had it been phrased as "learn me.." I would be drunk right now.
Go to OReilly's Auto Parts. Each store keeps a miata battery in stock and at a pretty good price. You can pay more but why???

Actually, a lot of people are indicating, that thanks to modern toilets, we do in fact poop wrong.
No one knows about Miatas around here and thank you very much for making me miss my P71. I'm not happy with you now.

Autozone/Pep Boys/Wal-Mart can give you an AGM battery; just make sure to tell them what it's going in. My battery died at the Mitty two years ago; I got an autozone replacement and it's chugging along fine still.
In case you want a degree in Miata Batteryology, here's your link.

In my 18 years of Miata ownership I have never seen a red top (and I have never looked for one.) I am not sure it would look very good?
The typical is black or tan since those were the factory colors for the first version of the Miata. The second versions did offer a somewhat rare navy blue.
Just thinking out loud I guess.
Tom Heath:
I work at NAPA. Apparently we offer an AGM battery here, so I just ordered one. Was just wondering if there was any other cheaper/lighter/awesomer option. Thanks again for the link.
I'm excited.
I assumed a "red top" referred to an Optima battery
I've seen red soft tops. Heck, Mazda put one on the 1993 LE I think. But they don't match the red paint well at all.
And don't worry about djhive's opinion of Miata.net - it's an excellent source of information.
yeah I meant a red cloth top.
didn't think of dying a white one....

Ah, yes, the rare '93 Black car with red top and red interior. I forgot about that one.
I don't ordinarily care for black cars... but I can see myself in that one
Daniel, you are getting a steal. Good luck with the car.
What is this "Miata" you speak of?

I have seen an after-market red ragtop on a red car. I assure you, it looks like a$$. And not hot a$$, either - it's totally saggy, ugly, pockmarked nasty a$$. Don't do it. It ends up looking like your paint job went bad because your top's a slightly different shade of red than the body of the car.
Now, if you wanted to do a red top on a white or silver car, that would be hot. But if you want a red top on a red car that doesn't look like saggy, ugly pockmarked nasty a$$, get a hardtop and paint it to match.
Not that I have an aesthetic opinion, or anything. :D

And no matter how good the initial match is, the top will fade and no longer match.
A local Miata driver tried to paint her Miata to match her tan top. Baby poop brown was the result. It's not the most attractive car in town.

You will have 2/3 of the Holy Trilogy.
Why stop now?

The 93 LE DOES NOT have a red top.
My car (which has a 93 LE interior) has a red custom ordered Robbins top.
Yes, thats hail, and yes its Deal's Gap. I'm hardcore like that
I was a productive member at Miata.net long before I started working for one of the sponsors. And I've worked to make it a good community (as I have here) since before the forum existed. There are quite a few Miata forums online, and I'm a member at most of them. Of the Miata-specific ones, I think Miata.net is the best of the bunch for quality of information and the quality of the discourse.
Try to come up with a different word than "sheep". It's getting a little repetitive. I think you've made your point. You have some unusual beliefs, and people on Miata.net don't necessarily agree with you. But constantly disparaging it as you've been doing all day looks worse for you than it does for Miata.net - as is true in most things.
