I have evil dreams of the 5.4 s/c out of a termi cobra or svt lightning into a late box (think halogen lamps but pre bubble) panther town car.

Twin turbos huffing into a roots style blower on a 5.0...for, you know, reasons. Maybe some nitrous too, if I feel it's all holding together too well.
Let's see... Successfully evade the law in automotive transportation? Check. Catch hangtime with all four wheels? Check. Beat a train across the tracks? Check. Drive home on only front tires and bare rims in back? Check. Play gran turismo WHILE driving a car at 30mph? Check.
Nope. I've done it all.
In high school I wanted to swap a Typhoon/Cyclone AWD setup, with manual trans swap, and a twin-turbo small-block(pre-LSX days) into an early C3 Vette.

My buddy has a 72 with a 1uz, I remember finding the car on ebay for a few hundred bucks and convincing him to buy it. Several years and who know how many hours it's a beast. The pics on here are not up to date but here: http://www.con2r.com/projects-corona/

You mean a 4L60. T5s can't handle the torque.
/don't look at the parts in storage

The Typhoon/Syclone drivetrain is just Astro AWD. Not sure how manual-swappable the transfer case is, but it's just a NP136, probably could move its internals to a 2 series case no problem.
If you wanted to do something like that. All the truck transmissions have awful gear ratios.
(wait, this was "bad ideas", so... go for it!)

I guess I could make an adapter and use the T56 that's in the storage shed.
When I was a teenager, I wanted to take the 429 out of my car and put in a 302 because it was easier to get headers or swap manual transmissions in.
Fortunately I never did that.
Unfortunately, it was because I wanted to go with a Flathead.
(Fortunately I didn't do that, either)

this guy's story says it can be done, but prepare for 150x the work you anticipated

A modern-ish body on a Model A chassis. Something that looks kind of like this:

Make a panel PT Cruiser with the stock engine in the front and a second engine in behind the panels. Haven't decided if I'd do an SRT4 motor or just the standard small block.

That sounds a little more extreme than what I was thinking! I was figuring find the shortest wheelbase 2wd 2011+ F-150 I could with the boosted V6, rip the cab off, link the rear and put it on coilovers and make up a body for it (and maybe figure up a manual swap). No need to swap the new motor into an old chassis.

I was trying to find the pictures, but I've seen this at a cruise-in. Innocuous looking old-man Town Car with a supercharged 4v under the hood. Looked like Ford built it that way, too, very well done.
In reply to rslifkin:
That one is actually a new chassis with an old body (and a hybrid interior).
But my point wasn't to thread jack. So that's all.
VW diesel+ Samurai 5 speed+ decent, locked rear end+ Sprite/GT6/Spitfire/ cheap RWD of darn near any description.
Also, Toyota RAV4 all track turbo
That Corona is SWEET, CLNSC3!

yes please.
I've always wanted to put a 6bt Cummins and manual into an old Lincoln continental.
Also want to put a turbo Volvo redblock into a jeep xj or little pickup.

There's a guy in Michigan who did this, with the short wheelbase 2-door model that I neevr knew existed until I saw this... thing.
Looks utterly scary.
I've talked about this before. For some reason, I'm really enamored with the early Mercedes ML class, and I'd like to buy one, sort it, and employ it in overland use, even though I'd be much smarter to just buy a Series 80 or 100 Land Cruiser/Lexus.
