I have some questions for you guys who are experienced with track days and their safety rules. I picked up a 95 Miata at the end of last year to autocross but I want to do some track days as well. I have a factory hardtop for the car, and that will allow me to get my feet wet with some clubs (SCDA, for example, allows Miatas to run with the hardtop only). I do want to add a roll bar eventually, but I am a pretty big guy. I already foamectomied the seat and I know I'll have some trouble getting a setup that will let me pass the "broomstick test." However, if I run a roll bar in addition to the hard top (probably the hard dog hard core hard top) will I still need to pass the broomstick test? Will tech inspectors remove the hardtop from the car to test rollbar height vs. my helmeted head? Or is the bar + hardtop good pretty much anywhere? Any input is appreciated.

Relevant to my interests as well.
That being said, I'm already certain that I wont pass without some combination of chopping more off the bottom of my seat or modifying the aftermarket sliders.
And that might not even work, I say 25% chance I'll end up bolting the seat directly to the floor.
