Jetta needs new shoes soon, OE Hankooks lasted 40k and not even 10 months-I'm impressed but damn they suck. Last straw for them was the deluge of rain this past Sat when all I did was hydroplane. All I do for this very second is 70mph 4lane freeway and one corner around work I like to 3 wheel around.

General G-Max AS03. They're a UHP all season and have been good to me. I've had Continental DWS and these are on par with them. I paid $80 a tire at a discount tire store for the size you need.

I had those on my old Jetta. Drove it all over the place in Maine. Rain, dirt roads, mud. Errthing but snow. Lasted almost 20K miles. Can't beat that. Your daily 3-wheeling will become most excellent.

+1 for these. Maybe also Conti ExtremeContact DW or Yokohama S.Drive. There's no point putting costly, fast-wearing, super-sticky EPS tires on a street-only car.
Another vote for Conti DWS, if you can get them in 16".

S.Drives are very good all around, long wearing, and not too expensive. I had them on my Accent for probably 40K. Still not worn out, but they got less good in rain.
Find something you like from Costco (assuming you're a member). Just changed the Goodyear Eagle Assurance ComforTred on the XC90 (very good and quiet tires btw...quiet all the way to when it was almost worn out at about 55kmiles) with Bridgestone Alenza HL Plus. The Bridgestone got lots of good review on TireRack. For DD I put more emphasis on how quiet it drives and wet traction. Costco price was cheaper than TireRack and you can't beat $15 installation which includes free tire rotation and road hazard warranty. I think they may also carry tires that are more performance oriented. So far after about a few hundred miles on the Bridgestone pretty happy with it.
I'm a fan of the Yoko S.Drives and have been using them for years on multiple cars. Great tire for DD duties and won't fall on their face at autocross. They are technically a summer tire though, so if you get a lot of snow and ice where you live they can get a bit hard-n-slippery. They've been fine in very light snow for me though.
I'm loving the Michelin Pilot AS/3 on my Golf TDI. Yeah, a bit more expensive, but after 10k miles they still have most of the nubs on them from new. I'm not easy on them either. Mostly commuting mileage, and a couple of 10+ hr each way road trips.
Another +1 for Continental Extreme Contact DW. They're the best tire in the rain.
Conti DW (NOT the DWS), great tires, affordable and comfortable as well.

I love the DWs that I have on my E46, but winter tires they are not. If you need to go through even light snow, you want the DWS all-seasons. I have them on my wife's TSX and they are really really good.
Cue repeat discussion about "no season" compromise tires and how only idiots buy them
I must have a special set of Hankooks on my Fiesta. Handling is OK for an all season tire. Never a problem in the wet. Been in some down pours at 60 mph. I do push them on curves too.

No. Not just no, but HELL no. I'm a Kumho all season fan, but that tire sucks. If you're going Kumho recomendations LX Platinums. $93 each from tire rack, quiet, ride great, decent grip and will last an easy 50k with rotations. The 4X you're lucky to get 35k, chop like hell and sound like a mud tire on the highway.
