What will happen first?

A) You getting a Cardinal bought and built for $65k

B) You finding a zero option C8 for $65k

You can also find C7 Z06s at that price point.

Absolutely:

C7 Z06 for $69K

But I suppose one area the smaller car will have an advantage is in consumables. Tires and brakes should last longer and the 4 banger should drink a little less fuel.

Street characteristics will likely depend some on where you live.  In some states, registering this car may be easy and in others it would take an act of god.  Others somewhere in the middle.  As a track-car, I would assume it would be trailered either way and in that context I would definitely look at used or maybe even new sports racers before this.

I think these are going to become very collectible as time moves on.  I don't know the production numbers but I see way more C8 s than C7s on the road these days.

It's just too ugly to justify that price, especially with a turbo 4 cylinder. If it were smaller and used a 1000cc bike engine, then maybe; that would at least sound good. I don't have to look at it from the driver seat, but I certainly wouldn't be looking back at it when I walked away.
