One month to the Challenge, and I am sorry to see that the GB Packers (and Wisconsin in general) have gotten more smack talk than any Challenge entrants. Even the political rants are more entertaining than the threads for this year's event.
While I do want us all to love each other, ther's nuthin' wrong with a good food fight in the cafeteria every once in a while.
Just sayin'...

All Ya'all better take notice because the MX6 GT Mafia is coming to lay a beat down.

It's because you are $1 off budget, I'm sure.

There's a distinct lack of Clown on the boards lately, which always seem to affect the smack level.

Oh yeah. Going from a 100 to a 150 shot on top put me just barely over, and i can't find anyone to buy my cigarette lighter for $1.
I think you got the year wrong, halftrack. And yeah, it might help to add a random clown insult to spice things up.
Which reminds me, there's a great video online of Louis C.K. speaking at the NYPL's tribute to George Carlin, in which he observes that clowns are never funny, and you know how you can tell? There's never been a clown with an HBO special. Good point.
Sorry, back to the smack... but let's step it up!

Really?
REALLY?
You get a cold and decide to make the monkeys dance for your amusement?
Wow.

When I enter the challenge I will get the 1/4 mile record.
Not this year, though.
And probably not the year after that, either.
I'm working on the ultimate contender, but my efforts at saving money by mining my own titanium are extending the time line a bit. I'm getting hung up on the carbochlorination step, my Magnesium doping keeps fouling the process. Once I get the chlorine gas concentration right I'm sure it will go fine. Then I need to purify some sodium to fill the valves that I'll be machining, which should be cake. Making my own carbon fiber from graphite is a known quantity, so that should go smoothly. I estimate I'll be ready for the 3011 challenge.
I will have the fastest 1987 Firebird I have ever brought to the challenge. You are all forewarned.
When i show, it'll be for the sole purpose of doing an 1/8th mile burnout during my quarter mile runs. I'm thinking 450wtq OFF the bottle should suffice, since that would put me around 600wtq with the bottle.
Followed shortly by "most spectacular failure," i imagine.

I've got 29 entries as of today. Interesting, there are two C4 vettes, two Firebirds and two Datsun 280zxs.
That must mean something.
i will be schoolin' everyone in the fine art of staying up until sunrise drinking beer with the hongs. if i make it.

Sounds like there is a flood coming for cool cars and we should get a few more pairs onto the ark.

It means I'm likely to get beat by two C4 vettes, one Firebird, and two Datsun 280zxs.
I will be there if that counts. Maybe next year I will bring my own car.
I gave my 'That Guy" tee shirt to goodwill
I'm attending...need to send in my entry. Turbo Miata.

So you want ME to build the one that actually runs? That's a tall order, mine has more miles on it.

LOL!
I think we'll both be fine. Your turbo setup shipped yesterday, btw.
I feel like the lack of smack from the Clown and various members of Hong Norr means they are seriously busy on something spectacular.
I haven't seen Andy on here much either...what's that guy got up his sleeve?
I unfortunately will not be there with the Jeep. She is going to have to make her reappearance next year. I'm trying to get down there but we'll see...
Hey Margie,
Why no coverage of the $2010 Challenge on the site?

There's a direct correlation there. I won't be coming. Therefore, I have not to smack about as it relates to the Challenge.
That said:
-
There will be hongs there. At least 25% of your trophies are belong to us.
-
The reason you haven't heard anything from gweedypie is because "Somalian Transvestite Mini-Drivers Weekly" hasn't done a story on his car in a while...or you actually had someone go line-by-line through the state of Florida's budget and say "What the berkeley? We pay a long-haired pederast looking clown to drive around from school to school and talk to kids about the dangers of smoking?"
-
Now that the GT boys apparently got a new teacher...or maybe it's just that they've been in school for 15 years now (weren't you guys all supposed to have entry-level 6 figure jobs at CAT by now?) who is there to talk smack about?
