I have a old t50 that I broke being stupid back in the late 90's side stepped the clutch about 10 times and broke 1 gear. I still have it, would it be worth fixing? The OD brings my highway RPM to 1100 at 60mph. behind a 350 I still have the matching drive shaft I had made for it too. It is one of those parts that have been moved to 3 different houses.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I was looking for a T50 myself to play with and this message popped up in search.

Those Borg Warner T50's are unloved. Very light duty, rated at 210 ft lbs torque IIRC. Originally came in 1976 Oldsmobile Cutlass and Pontiac Lemans with the 110 hp 260ci Olds V8 in the base cars with the high MPG option. They were also used with the V8 Monza. A 4cy/V6 version was also used with the Cosworth Vega, Astra, Monza, Sunfire and early S10's.

Behind a 350 I surprised it lasted at all.

There are no rebuild kits available for them anymore and no aftermarket support. Your choices are to find another (rare) or swap to a Camaro T5.

I like these trannies, always keeping an eye out for trannies and parts. Keep me in mind if you don’t like em.
