Ouch... didn't realize it's $99/yr... but then again, I've probably spent more than that on shipping. Or close enough.

We order just about everything from Amazon. They are in town and the shippig is fast. I get free same day on orders over $35. There are many benefits to prime beyond the shipping. Check it out. I use Amazon music and cloud photos on my phone. I use Amazon music at work and the music service allows you to download songs for offline listens when you don't want spend data to stream it.
I'm thinking of becoming an FBA seller for some sideline cash.
So here's an example of how I use Amazon.... Today I realized I couldn't go to the gym in the morning, because I had left my combo lock at the gym last night. They seem to last about 6 months for me and then I lose one. I quickly placed an order this morning for two combo locks for $7.78 including tax. They will be here Sunday and I can go to the gym Monday. I don't have to go to the store to buy one, which I often forget to do because I have three small kids.
The shipping is magical.
If anyone has a .edu email address, Prime is free for the first year and 50% off thereafter. For $50/year, it's a damn good deal. Even if you don't, $99 seems steep but it really works out to a little more than 8 bucks a month which is the same as 12 burritos a year.

Say what? Nobody ships on Sunday
In reply to Sine_Qua_Non:
crazy part is USPS will do the Sunday delivery, yes to residential, whereas "Lasership" does the deliver service during the week

They do apparently. I ordered something last Saturday around 6pm, they said delivery Monday. Then the shipment email said Sunday delivery, I thought it was an automated reply and brushed it off. Sure as E36 M3 there was a package on my doorstep Sunday evening.
