This is my first car with a standalone management system (FJO Racing - http://www.fjoracing.com/)

Engine has gone through basic break-in, and one dyno pull. I currently can't get it to idle properly below 1600 rpm with its current map/tables. Basic trouble shooting has eliminated BASIC mechanical issues (timing, vacuum, sensors, fuel, spark)

My attempts to go beyond the basic map have proven my lack of standalone tuning skills.

I'm looking for a competent, expereinced, dyno tuner. Car is in the greater Portland Oregon area, but tuner's capability is more important then proximity (greater PacNW?)

If you are curious it is a 4AGE in a rwd Corolla (no, not an AE86). Basics: 4AGE - 10.75 to 1, "264" cam, lightened rotating assembly(Loynings Engine Service), sequential injection w/wasted spark ignition(both managed by FJO)

Surprised you didn't have Loyning's do the Dyno tune for ya, they've done a wide range of machinery over the years.

Uhhhhhhhh.... I did... they are the ones who did the break-in, they then told me I had an idle problem, and either I could spend $$$$$$ with them finding it, or I could find it myself.......

To make a VERY long story short... the ECU is forcing in an extra 15-20 degrees on advance that it doesn't "know" is there......

in essence we monitored the ECU ign advance, and it was reading 15-20 degrees less advance then it was giving it(as read by a timing light with adjustment for advance)

I know that doesn't make a lot of sense... but that is why I'm looking for a tuner who can tune to the street

You might try calling Edge Motorsports in Eugene (541) 242-3343

Possibly a weak MAP signal from your larger cam?

Are you running a single throttle body or multiple throttle bodies?

Do you have a wideband oxygen sensor?

Sounds like the EFI system you're using is pretty standard fare for the industry in that it adjusts based on sensor inputs over time. However if you have a sensor providing an erroneous value, well there you go.

You might look at some of the basic tuning articles written for other EFI systems and it looks like FJO have free technical support for their products, which might be worth a shot.

Unfortunately, the bottom line is that Dyno time isn't cheap and I'd fix the idle problem at home before taking it to a Dyno.

I'd take a stab that they have an idle table that is separate from the rest of the tables in their software and that is where the problem lies. However, since FJO don't have their manuals online, I can't verify that theory.

Horsepower freaks does good work! Another shop you can check out in the Portland area is R-Rev, they are primarily a Supra shop but its worth giving them a call!
