I'm not sure it's allowed by whoever sanctions where you want to race the car, but you could cut a couple of 2" holes in the base of the windshield and install the little clear pop-open vents from a Vetter motorcycle fairing windshield.
Any reason you wouldn't want to use a 12v defroster? They are cheap.
