Its not just GRM that wants to start playing with hybrids and electric cars, Turner Motorsport has a BMW ActiveE 1-series that is getting upgraded too. Personally, I like the idea. I wouldn't expect them to replace our gas drinking toys anytime soon but I welcome the electric competition and hope further development can make hybrids and electric cars more fun to drive for enthusiasts like ourselves.

At one point, I had daydreamed about making my Suburban into a hybrid using a small diesel generator, and a locomotive A/C traction motor under the hood. Might have been a tight fit.
Of course there is always this...

There used to be a Hybrid Suburban in my neighborhood, but now I don't see it anymore.

I would think the hard part would actually be gearing, but maybe not considering plenty of locomotives do 70MPH and up, and in a car body the motors might be capable of more RPMs.
