No, seriously, the name of the company is Canoo.
Weren't we just talking about Forward Control layout EV trucks?

Lots of neat storage and utility ideas, but an absolutely horrible driving position. There's no way this wouldn't have been better with a stubby hood and traditional windshield other than the fact it would look like every other van.
I want to hate it but I do like the adventure version .
Another article on it that isn't from Jalopnik. They have become tiresome in their EV articles because they've learned that anything anti-Tesla gets all the clicks.

It's a great looking concept. There's a reason the price of Vanagons has been ratcheting up over the past few years. I am curious about the driving position, the doors seem to indicate that it's behind the front axle with a huge amount of space to pile up your hats on the dashboard.
But - it's just renderings, and they're saying production the year after next? That's...ambitious.
This is exactly the fantasy they're going after. That's last weekend, and we used about 220 miles of "range". Access was via dirt/rock roads that were otherwise soley occupied by Jeeps with aired down tires and UTVs. Couldn't see a single light at night and you could hear the wings of the birds flying off the top of the cliffs. Ahhhh.
Jalopnik's hateboner for Tesla continues to stand proud at attention. It's getting so bad I wonder if they're driving commentators on the site to like Tesla just out of spite.
I really want to like Canoo but they strike me as a car company who's overarching goals are way too aggressive versus what they could do in the short term. Having a cabover design in 2021 would be an awesome way to have a truly unique product in todays market, but Canoo really is going for a full autonomy and "vehicle subscription" business model and lord knows if that'll work even 10 years from now. Last I saw, they don't even have much independent technology outside of that.
Still tho, it's a handsome van, though I can't get around how they want to have the steering wheel and it's support beam exposed- showing there's no physical connection between the wheel and the rack is just too much for me.
I am all in on electric and I like the concept but do you think there is some retired engineer at Toyota saying what the berkeley I did that in 1990...
The shape not the drive train or the lift kit.

There is a possibility that products from a supplier such as Magna will be used. I understand Magna has PHEV and BEV platforms available - here’s Magna’s electrification site https://electrification.magna.com/
Update 2021 03 20 - this showed up in one of my inboxes yesterday https://www.magna.com/company/newsroom/releases/release/2021/03/11/news-release---magna-drives-pickup-truck-electrification-with-its-new-ebeam-technology
e beam is a configurable live rear axle with an electric motor in place of the pumpkin.
Living in the city, I appreciate compactness, and really want to like this truck. But all that volume in front of the driver serves no purpose at all other than to soak up more heat and ass a couple of pillars in your primary view. They've also got odd design details. - The SUV has an interior that looks to have been designed by someone with no vehicle experience.

I already had mad respect for KT but throwing down old school rap as a response to anything gains cool points...

I’m quoting myself because editing my post only changed the post and did not cause it to be treated as a new post.
Dana has had something similar in their catalog for a year or two but they won't return requests for info. It's a perfect choice for pickups. Or for 1966 Cadillacs.

The article I read seemed to indicate that Magna was looking to sell these so fleets could be retro fitted, but there was no indication how distribution would be handled.
