So I picked up a cheap "semi-resonator" tip from A-zone for $12. I say "semi-resonator" because while it had some of the mesh wire inside of it, it was not as much as the $25 unit I picked up a few days ago, nor did it have any of the diameter "squish" inside.
Not quite as quiet as the "old" one, but, the "new-er" one reduced the drone to really rather manageable levels - to the point I was bopping along at 4K this morning (about the peak of the prior resonance zone) and didn't realize it. Only a little drone at certain points. Overall it's well and good.
Still a little loud at WOT, still sounds like an angry bumble bee. I are happy.
