I am sorry for the joke that I made. I was trying to be funny, but obviously it did not come out that way. You asked a legitimate question, which I answered after my "joke", but perhaps by that point my feedback was moot. Your accomplishments are certainly more commendable than my attempt at humor. I have removed the first part of my response and left my answer to your question. This new coupe version of the 818 looks amazing, and I apologize for temporarily de-railing the thread.
I am assuming that the nature of your question was based on the potential to use the more potent drivetrain of the GTM, in the 818 body, correct? This coupe version looks much nicer than the original "street" version and I would love to build one, but I suspect that the actual cost to complete it would end up being pretty high, despite the reasonable cost of the kit.

I need to qualify that I am not upset with you personally. Had I been I would have called you out in my post. There is a general pound your chest and kick the poor speller / grammar / person on this board that is getting worse as time goes by and since it is a thing that I completely suck at I seem to be the magnet for that kind of comment.

Have you ever considered trying to improve your spelling and grammar? I was taught how to spell using an experimental method that was a complete failure, so I know where you're coming from. I'm still not good at the grammar part, but I've vastly improved my spelling over time by working hard at it. Seriously, some of your spelling errors are really basic. I don't mean to offend you, but the root cause of your problems here are your poor spelling and grammar, not the people that tease you about it. It sounds like you're a smart guy, so work hard to overcome it and you will.
Read the other thread and get back to me. If anyone can figure out a way to cure dyslexia they will be heroes and also very rich.
Mainlandboy: I'm kinda new around here and I don't really know you or dean, but I respect the way you handled that, and it's a style I would love to see more of in worldwide forum culture.

That is actually an excellent idea. I was actually thinking that as I drove to the office this AM. BUT there is the side issue that people here need to lighten up a bit. Like I said I received personal Emails from people that will not post here as they don't want to be subject to that kind of thing. REALLY smart people that have forgot more than I know about cars and all things automotive and that is sad as in the end it is we that are loosing out not them.
Love the hardtop, still hate the subaru drivetrain.
I like the coupe. A/C can't be too hard. Use the Subie compressor, make up some lines and use a one of the universal underdash kits like the hot rod guys use. (vintage air)

I did not notice that. But I think it is because of the narrow in the middle and the duck bill snout.

I think that Smyth Performance project is pretty dead. They seem to be much more heavily focused on their Jetta-based truck kit now.
As for the 818 coupe, much prettier than the roadster!
