Hmmmm. I guess I was extraordinarily lucky then. I was successfully welding thin rusty Fiat sheet metal after a few test welds on some scrap. The only welding "theory" I studied was the feed rate/amperage chart sticker on the welder. Shouldn't the roof on a chevy pickup be thicker than an old Fiat?

^ This, I've welded small holes like this since the day I picked up the welder. This is not rocket science folks, take your time it can be done simply.

I would weld it but another option would be to lead/solder it. Put a small dimple at each hole with a hammer then apply solder/lead. Sand seal and paint.

I would be comfortable with either way.
